PIE currently has programs to match almost every family's needs, ranging in length from a semester to a full academic year, where the students attend local high schools. PIE representatives match students with host families by finding common interests and lifestyles through an informal meeting. Prospective host families are able to review student applications and select the "perfect match." As there are no "typical" host families, PIE can fit a student into just about any situation, whether it be a single parent, a childless couple, a retired couple or a large family. Families who host for PIE are also eligible to claim a $50 per month charitable contribution deduction on their itemized tax returns for each month they host a sponsored student. For the upcoming programs, PIE has students from Spain, Germany, Poland, Russia, Italy, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Australia, New Zealand, France and many other countries. PIE is a nonprofit educational organization that has sponsored more than 18,000 students from 18 countries since its founding in 1975. He was horn Oct. 1, 1907 in Masonic Lodge, Order of the Cando, North Dakota, a son of Willis and Olive Bandy Martha R. Behling Gren, 92, passed away Aug. 8, 1993 in Bountiful. She was born Dec. 7, 1900 in Ferron, Utah, a daugh- Austin. He was a carpenter and worked many years as a supervisor to a dc eloper. He enjoyed his work and retired at 69 years of age. He was active in the Bountiful Community Church, mar- ried Alberta Kopp Jan. 27, 1930; she died November 1973. He married Lorene McCleary April 12. 1975 in Bountiful.
