Show Fay E. Thacker psls'i v. :.: :l; ::ff l 1 ..dfc ..liilil Fay Elgie Thacker, 85. of 557 Maple, Clearfield, died Monday, Sept. 8, 1986 at a Clearfield nursing home of a stroke. He was born Sept. 24. 1900, in Daniels, Utah, a son of John and Eliza A. Winterton Thacker. He married Thaylia Watson on Oct. 10, 1923 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was reared and educated in Daniels where he lived for 22 years. He attended Utah State Agriculture Agricul-ture College. He lived in Castle Gate for 52 years and in Clearfield the past 12 years. He was an active member of the LDS Church where he held many positions. He was a Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent, superin-tendent, counselor in the bishopric and stake high priests for 15 years. He was bishop in Castle Gate. He was currently serving and had served as patriarch for 28 years. He was a member of the board of trustees of Castle Gate and president presi-dent of the town board. He was night foreman for the Castle Gate coal mine, retiring in 1960. Surviving are his widow of Clearfield, two sons and four daughters, Harry Fred Thacker, Phoenix, Ariz.; Fay Weldon Thacker, Bountiful: Mrs. Robert (Fern) Anderson, Pleasant Grove; Mrs. Lloyd (Helen) Gheen. American Amer-ican Fork; Mrs. Jack (Marilyn) FAY ELGIE THACKER Leifson, Spanish Fork; Mrs. Bud (LaPreal) Allison. Clearfield; 36 grandchildren and 30 greatgrandchildren. great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one sister and three brothers, Mrs. Weldon (Au-rtance) (Au-rtance) Rigby , Salt Lake City; Hor-ton Hor-ton F. Thacker, Daniels: Afton M. Thacker, Heber City; J. Weston Thacker, Mesa, Ariz. Services were held Sept. 13 at the Clearfield 5th LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Robert Spiers officiating. Interment in the Heber City Cemetery. Funeral directors, Lindquist's Clearfield Mortuary. |
