The baby weighed five pounds, 10 ounces and will be named Leslie Michele. She has two brothers, Joseph and Anthony. Those who attended the christening of Zachary David Nielson, son of Jeanine and David Nielson of Salt Lake City, were grandparents, Arlene and Murray Rigby and son, Randy, and AUGUST Oswald Clarke have been their granddaughters. The Newton Ward Sacrament meeting was conducted by Bishop Glen R. Benson. The Young Ladies Youth Chorus composed of 12 members sang a special number, The Lord Is My Shepherd. Prayer was by Stephen Kimball'. Memberships were read for James, Mary, Karen, James and Mary Morris who recently moved into the .old Luke Anderson home. Myrle and Joseph Timmins drove and took their travel trailer to Portland and visited Joe's neice, Grace and Charles Irby. Mr. Irby is connected with the District Forest Service, in the office. The Timmins then drove to Van Couver, British Columbia in Canada and took the ferry to Swartz Bay. Mrs. Timmins said the scenery was just beautiful. It took an hour and a half on the three decker ferry. In the late afternoon they arrived at Victoria then drove to Duncan where they attended the John Thorn-le- y Richard Thornley family reunion. George and his son John Thornley of Boswell, Utah and formally of Smithfield and Georges sister, Beatrice Thornley of Smithfield, ' flew to the reunion. About 100 were present at the reunion, coming from 2120 (slftoai Seattle, Calgary, etc. A pork barbeque on an open pit over a cedar fire was prepared by the Thorn-le- y decedents of Duncan. Corn on the cob. rolls, pickles, etc., was served. The second day a barn dance was held and a salmon cook out enjoyed. They cooked the salmon the way the Indians do and it was delicious. Clam chowder was also &tab served. A rock and roll dance and other dances for all ages was the entertainment. On the third day, roast Iamb was served.
