The purpose of the nursery is to check new varieties and crosses of winter wheats for yield, milling quality, straw strength, disease resistance and other factors under actual field conditions. Mr. and Mrs. Phillips also established a dwarf smut nursery on the Eugene Pasklns farm at Treasureton.
