Show THE LADIES' EXHIBIT. Their World's Fair ErtbrtsCro wiled wil-ed vVith Success. AS ELEGANTLY MOISTED FH'TL'ItE OF Eliza R. Snow A Silk Quilt Artificial Flowers Silk Handkerchiefs and Dress Patterns. The ladies of Box Elder County will have a World's Fair exhibit of which they may be proud. They have spent a great deal of money and labor and deserve much credit for their exertions. Not only the officers but all who have taken hold deserve to be congratulated. Certainly, for non-professional?, the ladies have a display of fancy work that would be difficult to excel. Their collection is worth several hundred dollars. Thursday, a Bugler representative representa-tive was shown their exhibit. The most important articles are as follows: fol-lows: A life-size picture of Eliza R. Snow, the frame, easel ' and drape of which are home-made. The picture was crayoned by Prof. Eisler. Mrs. P. F. Madson has had the work under her care and direction. direc-tion. The frame and easel are covered with gobelin blue silk velvet, the frame being artistically embroidered with purple pansies, white roses and English ivy. The China silk drape is also of the gobelin blue. This dainty article was made by Christena Anderson. Mrs. Madson and several other Third ward ladies have spent all the time they could spare from their households for over a month on this elegant monument to their skill. A silk dress pattern, woven and spun by Mrs. Fosgren, a box of ve"ry natural artificial flowers and a box of feather hot ornaments . made by Mrs. Paul Stark, and a dozen dainty silk handkerchiefs, made by as many different j'oung ladies, complete the exhibit male by the ladies of Brigham City. A silk quilt, lovely enough to , cover a sleeping princess, was i made by the enterprising ladies of ! Iloneyville. It is a pi ty all the peopl e in the county did not have the privilege of reviewing the creditable exhibition of the talent and skill of the ladies of Box Elder before the collection is forwarded for-warded to Chicago to be placed in Utah's handsome building with the remainder of the Territorial exhibits. |
