Asks Indulgence Now I hope my readers will indulge me a few lines so I can get something off my chest. I love sports, all kinds of Cindy! I love watching but mostly I love to participate. Webster defines sports as an activity providing entertainment or recreation; pastime or diversion. Mr. Webster had better look for a new definition. Sports is no longer something we play at, something for amusement. We do not participate for the sheer enjoyment of the game. In fact we are consumed with a desire for the victory. sports. Patricia Harper, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. three-year-ol- d Dennis Harper is in the hospital where she recently underwent surgery on her back. Everyone in Honeyville wishes her a quick recovery and hope to see her back home again soon. An open house honoring the past bishopric of Honeyville was held on Sunday at the Honeyville church house. Many were on hand to offer their thanks and appreciation for the fine work done by these outstanding men and their wives. This was Cindys first year in the national competition and she brought home an impressive eighth place win. Earlier this month she placed first in the state tumbling competition. Cindy had been taught by her mother, Grace Orme and only recently became a student of Terry Ellis. Congratulations, family in from organized. Everyone in the family, no matter what age or sex joins a league thats the only way to play. We are then drilled in the rules of the game and are molded into champ-- ' ions. Champions do not lose. If you are a loser you are not wanted. Im not saying that competition isnt healthy or that winning isnt good. But I feel that winning is not the most important. Referring to Webster again, he tells us that sportsmanship is the qualities of a good sportsman, especially fair play ac- companied by the capacity to win or lose gracefully, without arrogance in victory or whining in defeat. I think it is about Another Boy Congratulations go out to Mr. and Mrs. Brent Reeder who recently became the parents of another little boy. The little fellow was born on June 18. Brenda Yates, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kent Yates, has been spending the past week in Island Park, Idaho with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Blaylock.
