Mrs. James White spent the weekend in.Logan as a guest of her daughter Yvette White during Mothers Weekend' at Utah State university. Mrs. Ruth Shumway is happy over the arrival of her first grandchild born to Steve and Kathleen Lucero Shumway in Salt Lake City April 29. The baby boy will be named Clayton Shumway. Other grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Raul Lucero of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Mary P. Lindsay of Salt Lake City is the great grandmother. The Lacfies Self Culture club will meet today (Thursday) at the community center in the basement of the Garland Library with Mrs Inez Brown as chairman for the program. Ho- stesses will be Mrs. Dessie Campbell and Mrs. Dorothy Johnson. Bill Varga, a member of the faculty at Utah State university will give a discussion on flower arrangements. Musical num- bers will also be on the agenda. Light refreshments will be served by the hostesses. Mrs. C.J. Wood returned home Monday after receiving medical care at the hospital in Tremonton. Dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ramon Drake Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Drake of Kays-vill- Dinner Party Members of the Sounds of Zion of USU in Logan held a dinner party at the Institute Saturday evening for parents of their group. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Ashby attended as guests of their son Laurin. Mr. and Mrs. Ferrell Wood enjoyed Sunday dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wood and family. Patriarch and Mrs. James White had as their dinner guests on Sunday Mr. and Mrs. David Archibald of Clarkston who have just returned after spending the winter months in Scots-dalAriz.; Miss Yvette White of Logan and Mrs. Hattie Hodge. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brown were in Salt Lake City on business Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. DeLos Thompson of Brigham City visited Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Bishop during the week. Mrs. Fern Huish accompanied her son and daughter-in-law- , Mr. and Mrs. Burton Huish, and son Kevin of Twin Falls to Salt Lake City last Thursday where they met Nancy Ann Huish at the Salt Lake airport. Nancy Ann has been attending the College of Hawaii for the past four months. e. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brown visited their and her granddaughter husband, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Peterson of Centerville, who had just returned from a visit in Pennsylvania. Spending the weekend in Salt Lake City were Mr. and Mrs. Nephi Westergard. They were houseguests of their son and daughter-in-laMr. and Mrs. Brent Westergard. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Bishop last week were Mr. and Mrs. Odell Thompson of Napa, Calif. Saturday Mrs. Hanna Davis accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Williams of Pocatello to Salt Lake City where they visited Mrs. Margaret Fry. Sunday Mrs. Hanna Davis accompanied by Mrs. Margaret Fry of Salt Lake City attended a homecoming in the Woods Cross Ward chapel honoring Elder Gary Couch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Couch who has just returned after fulfilling a LDS Mission in Italy. Mrs. Margaret Fry accompanied Mrs. Davis home Sunday. They spent the afternoon visiting Mr. and Mrs. Geroge Daniels in Malad. They also visited their uncle Ernest Williams in Malad. Mrs. Kathy Shaffer and baby, of Weston, visited Mr. and Mrs. to Salt Lake City to visit their niece Michelle Hight of Kearns who is receiving medical care in the University Medical Center. They also visited their brother Lowell Christensen, their sister Mabel Christensen and their sister Mrs. Dora Ricks. Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Sid Sorenson attended Sacrament meeting in the fourth ward in Ogden where Sid ordained his grandson Roger Sorenson, son of Chris Sorenson as a deacon. Following the meeting they ate dinner at the officers were chosen for the coming season. Mrs. Marie Rhodes will be the new president and Mrs. Fern Huish, secretary. The retiring officers are Mrs. Dessie Campbell and Mrs. NaVelle Rhodes. Mrs. Jennie Gephart accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gephart and daughters Lesa and Robyn attended the presentation of Jolson 'N All That Jazz by the Bountiful Chapter of Sweet Adelines at the Highland High School in Salt Lake City Saturday evening. The small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Butler was blessed in the Garland First Ward Sacrament meeting Sunday by her father and given the name of Deborah Butler. A dinner party followed at the Butler home. Guests included Mrs. Valerie Ossana and sons Miles, Brooks, Jeremy and Conley of Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Butler and Lynn Butler of West Fielding, Mr. and Mrs. Ron Macfarlane and children Ronda and Michael of Riverside, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Potter and children Mark and Joyce and Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Potter of Garland. 723-858- 6 Chuck-O-Ram- BEFORE YOU BUY Adams hurt in accident CHECK OUR PRICES DeVere Adams, Fielding resident, underwent surgery Saturday at the Logan LDS hospital following a motorcycle accident near Grouse Creek. Adams was with 15 other motorcyclists headed for Jackpot, Nev. He failed to make a curve and was thrown over a five-foembankment. His motorcycle traveled approximately another 30 feet. Members of the group took Adams to a nearby house and phoned the Tremonton ambulance. He was taken by car to meet the ambulance near Stre-veand then transported to the hospital in Tremonton. showed that his right leg was broken in four places below the knee cap. He was immediately taken to the Logan hospital for leg surgery. He is expected to be in te hospital for ten days and will be in a cast for several months. e, Bridge Club The Garland Bridge Club met at the Senior Center in Tremonton Tuesday afternoon with Mrs Dessie Campbell as hostess. A luncheon was served. Prizes for bridge went to Mrs. NaVelle Rhodes, Mrs. Florence Garn and Mrs. Fern Huish. New CALL Mr. and Mrs. W. Lee Thompson visited their daughter Mrs. Karen Jaussi and family in Corinne Friday. Jack Fletcher is receiving medical care at the Tremonton hospital. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Cordell Thompson Wednesday were Mr. and Mrs. Dale Godfrey of Clarkston. They also visited Mr. and Mrs. W. Lee Thompson. Mrs. Zelda Adams of Yuba City, Calif., visited her brother-in-laand sister Mr. and Mrs. Harmon Pierson this week. She also visited Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Atkinson. Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Oyler and Mr. and Mrs. Harmon Pierson spent the weekend in Las Vegas. Mrs. Ruth Shumway spent the weekend at USU in Logan attending Mothers Weekend as a guest of her two daughters Carol and Lori Shumway.
