It must be time for asparagus hunters again. Ive seen more cars and more walkers out this past few weeks than I have for months. It is a good way to get exercise . . .maybe that is why it is such an attraction for all those visitors. Maybe we ought to have an asparagus celebration every year when it starts to poke its head out of the ground. There are celebrations for just about everything else in the world . . .that could be just the thing that this town needs . . An asparagus week and the 24th celebration . . Bear River would really boom. Maybe you could set up stands along side the road and sell the good tender green vegetable . . .just like the lemonade stands when I was young. You might make a little, but then when it grows wild and free I doubt that anyone will spend .their good cash for it! The first time I went hunting it it was all dry and it didnt taste too good, now that the water is down the ditches I bet that it will really start to make its appearance. Oh, well, it is a good bargain for your freezer if you can get your kids to eat it. Even if you cant, you can always serve it to guests. hard-earne- d Hard To Stoop I had better get off that subject, it just reminds me that I have to get out and get my exercise by picking it, and at this stage in the game it is a little hard for me to be stooping up and down to pick it. Speaking of exercise, the Bear River LDS ward held its Physical Fitness fair last week at the cultural hall. The fair consisted of four class periods of 15 minutes each. The participants were divided into four groups and then about 10 to 15 people in each group would go to a class and then when it was over they went to the next and so on until they had visited each class. The classes were as follows: Louise Tingey taught one on I must make a correction this week.
