Mr. and Mrs. Nish Zundel of Bountiful visited Mr. and Mrs. Kerry Zundel and family Satur- Assistant director of nursing chosen for Salt Lake hospital by Flo Munson Mrs. Lee Ann Iverson Snyder is the new assistant director of nursing in charge of medical units at the LDS hospital in Salt Lake City. Lee Ann is a Brigham Young university nursing graduate. Prior to being at the LDS hospital Lee Ann was employed at St. Anns hospital in Eugene, Ore.; employed at the University of Utah Medical center and was supervisor at the Logan hospital. She is married to Paul Snyder and they are parents of an eight month old baby boy named David Claud. Lee Ann is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claud Iverson of Tremonton. Mr. and Mrs. Claud Iverson returned home after spending a week in Provo with Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Sykes, who have just became parents of their sixth child. After visiting a week at the Sykes home, Mr. and Mrs. Iverson stayed three weeks at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Snyder caring for their little grandson David the Reflections, a Tremonton womens singing group performing May 5, are Christine Mason (seated), Sharyn Bailey (left) and Bonnie Ashby. The performance will be at the Bowcutt Reception center. MEMBERS of In Tremonton May 5 VGF Club Meets The VGF club met with Mrs. Bessie Calderwood as hostess Singing group slates concert The Reflections, a womens singing group in Tremonton, will present a concert Thursday, May 5 at the Bowcutt Reception center at 7 p.m. The concert will include music by Houston Bright, Ruth B. Lehenbauer and arrangements by L. Zaninelli, and H. Simeone. Featured guest soloist for the evening will be Mrs. Evelyn M. HarrisaiMostpuctor at. Weber State college, where she teaches accompaniment and pedagogy and is director of the Voce Coeds. She is a graduate of Brigham Young university, with a M.A. in vocal music. He accompanist will be Mary Ray Johnson, an assistant professor at Weber State college. She teaches piano, theory, literature and r Claud while his mother worked at the LDS hospital. New officers were elected recently for the Lions club at the Lions Den at a regular meeting. Jay Stokes is the president-elect- ; first vice president is Don Edvalson; second vice president, Merrill Johnson; third vice president, Lynn Darley; tail twister, Clifton G.M. Kerr; lion tamer James Greer; secretary and treasurer Donald Stenquist. The new directors are Harry Drew and Lawrence Smith. f accompaniment. She is a graduate of the East-- '' man School of Music, with an M.A. in piano. Mrs. Harris and Miss Johnson travel extensively and give many performances in the intermountain area. The Reflections are composed d of women from the Tremon-ton-Garlan- Tuesday evening. Following a luncheon the evening was spent in doing handiwork and enjoying a social. Mr. and Mrs. Alford John accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Clifford John to the Salt Lake airport Friday where Clifford and his wife Verna and son Bryan left by plane for Anchorage, Alaska. They went especially to attend sacrament meeting Sunday where the small son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hight was blessed by his father and given the name of Clifford Hight. The baby is Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Johns grandson. They attended the wedding ceremony for their grandson Curtis Flamm, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Flamm and his new bride Larae Tolman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph R. Tolman, who exchanged nuptial vows in the Oakland LDS temple April 23. A wedding breakfast was held at the home of the grooms parents. A reception also honored the newlyweds at the ward cultural hall in Alameda, Calif. Mrs. Bambi Slater and daughter Stephanie of Plain City visited her parents Mr. and Sharon Archibald nesday. Mrs. Wed- Reviews Book The Literary Guild met with Mrs. Beverly Edvalson as hos- tess Tuesday evening. Mrs. Erma Anderson of Bothwell gave an interesting review of Paul H. Dunns book entitled an official "The Osmonds story of the Osmond family. Verna John and Vera John visited their mother Mrs. Char-le- t Gibby in Mendon Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Bunnell welcomed two during April. One child is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steven (Becky Ann Lichfield) Himle of Salt Lake City. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Ernest (Oneta Bunnell) Lichfield of Boulder, Colo. A child was born to Mr. and Mrs. David (Holly Lee Foutz) Leffler of Las Vegas. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Hal (Liane Bunnell) Foutz. This makes four greatgrandchildren for the LeRoy Bunnells. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Bunnell spent most of three weeks during April visiting at the Doxey Harris Medical center with LeRoy Bunnells sister Mrs. Fred (Vinna) Knowles of Midvale who was seriously ill. She died April 23. They attended private graveside services for Mrs. Knowles on April 25. Mr. and Mrs. Jess Garfield ' went by plane to Reno last Sunday to attend church with their son and daughter-in-law- , Mr. and Mrs. Don Garfield, and family. Don was sustained as bishop of the Rose First ward in the Reno Nevada stake. Mr. and Mrs. Jess Garfield were overnight guests at their sons home and returned to Tremonton Monday. Harry and Shira Housley of Tremonton announce the birth of a baby girl born April 15 at the McKay hospital in Ogden. They have a small son Zackary at home. The new baby will be named Jessica Dawn McMurdie. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Housely of Garland, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford McMurdie of Elwood are now proud grandparents. Great grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Sam McMurdie of Ogden, Mrs. Pauline Neher of North Dakota, Mrs. Farnsworth of Fielding. Ruby Engagement Announced Mr. and Mrs. Ingen Baren-dreof Salt Lake City announce the engagement of their daughter Linda to Douglas son of Mrs. Vernell of Tremonton. The young couple will exchange nuptial vows in the Salt Lake LDS temple May 12. A reception honoring the newlyweds will be held that evening in the Riverside stake center at 1100 West 500 North in Salt Lake City. On May 14 the new Mr. and Mrs. Morrison will greet guests at an open house held at the Bowcutt Reception center in Tremonton. The bride-eleis a graduate of West High school and has been enrolled at Brigham Young university in Provo. The future groom graduated from Bear River High school and LDS Seminary. He fulfilled an LDS mission in Amsterdam, Holland. He graduated in April of this year from Brigham Young university and received his BS degree in the school of business. They will make their home in Los Angeles where Don has employment. The junior high school bands presented a program in the high school auditorium under the direction of Ward Jensen. She remained overnight with her daughter Mrs. Cheryl Giles and family. Her grandchildren Jode and Ryan Giles accompanied their grandmother home and remained until Sunday when Mrs. Giles visited at the Fuhriman home and the children accompanied her home. Mrs. Harris remained overnight with Mr. her son and daughter-in-laand Mrs. Phil Harris and family. Club Luncheon Fun The Tremonton-Garlanclub met with Mrs. Meda Hupp as hostess Thursday evening. Following a luncheon the evening was spent in doing handiwork and enjoying a social. Mrs. Nedra Christensen of Plain City joined the group for the evening. ' Dr. and Mrs. D. B. Green attended the presentation of Jolson All That Jazz, by the Bountiful Chapter of Sweet Adelines at Highland High school in Salt Lake City Saturday evening. Their daughter Mrs. Judy Allen was one of the particpants. Dr. and Mrs. Green were overnight guests of their and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Roy Allen and family. Saturday they visited in Huntsville with their granddaughters Mrs. Melanie Jensen and family and Lesa Stevens. .That evening they attended a dinner and musical show at Weber State college in Ogden. Mrs. Gladys Bennett is receiving medical care in the McKay hospital in Ogden. She is reported to be feeling better now. Mrs. Leland Harris spent a d son-in-la- Raegan Wheatley. The Honeyville school and their partners held their annual spring dinner party at Maddox Ranch House in Perry Saturday evening. Attending from this area were Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Firth, Mr. and Mrs. Don Edvalson, Mrs. Iris Douglas, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Bingham, and several from the Brigham City area. Following dinner, the entire group enjoyed a social at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Spiekerman in Brigham City. Mr. and Mrs. Alf Manning have returned after spending the winter months in Mesa. Green attended a party at the home of the Mr. and Mrs. Roy Allen family in Salt Lake City. The party honored Dr. Green who was observing his birthday. Other guests enjoying the dinner were Mrs. Susan Anderson and family of Bothwell, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Sant and daughter Jamie of Bountiful, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Archibald and son Brant, Mrs. Joann Garrett and daughter Jan of Salt Lake City. Dr. and Mrs. Green also visited their Sid Garrett who is receiving medical care in the LDS hospital in Salt Lake City. The young daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kim Bennett of Riverside was blessed in the Belmont ward sacrament meeting Sunday and given the name of Jodi Lynn Bennett. A dinner party followed at the Bennett home. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Kerry Zundel and family, Mrs. Celia Bennett and family of Tremonton, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Jones of Elba, Idaho and Mr. and Mrs. Rosel Zundel of Fieldson-in-la- ing. Mrs. Caddie Jenkins left Saturday for her home in Rexburg after spending the past two weeks wither her brother-in-laand sister Mr. and Mrs. A. N. J Rytting. Dr. and Mrs. Kimball (Debra Gibson) Wheatley of Ogden had their small daughter blessed in the Tremonton Sixth ward Sunday by her grandfather Don Gibson and given the name of Garland man ends sub deployment Navy Missile Technician Second Class Randy R. Abel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Abel of Garland, recently returned from an extended submarine deployment. He is a member of the blue crew aboard the fleet ballistic missile submarine USS Casimir Pulaski, homeported in New London, Conn. During the deployment, the Casimir Pulaski operated from its advanced overseas base at Holy Loch, Scotland. While on the patrols, his ship remained submerged on station for extended periods of time maintaining a state of constant readiness. He joined the Navy in Janu- ary 1972. Reunion May 28 for Guard vets A reunion for Utah National Guard veterans of World War II, 40th Division, will be held lh Salt Lake at the Jackling Hall Armory on May 28. Registration for the reunion is at 2 p.m. and a banquet will be held at 6 p.m. Wives are also invited to attend the reunion. area and meet weekly for rehearsal. They were formed almost two years ago in response to a need for a continuing musical group. Up to that point there had been few opportunities for married women out of high school or college to expand their talents in the musical field. During her years at Weber State college, she performed in Weber State Singers, sang with and served as student director of the Voce Coeds.
