Show Perry Pulse BOX ELDER JOURNAL, Brigham City, Utah Thursday, June 6, 1974 Residents find summer's here by Mrs. Max Nelson It must be summer. With the number of visitors in the area and the number of Perry ites leaving for vacations, this is a sure sign. The opening day of fishing season must of been real good, most of them I talked to filled their limits the first few hours. Summer has opened a lot of new activities for the residents of our community to enjoy. Returning from a wonderful trip to Southern California this past week were Doyle and Lynn Maddox and children Julie, Todd, Troy, Angie and Matt. n Last summer during the world series for little league held in Brigham, the Maddox were hosts to Mitch Reider. So as part of their vacation they attended a Jewish Bar Mitzvah for Mitch in North Hollywood. The Maddox spent two weeks enjoying many of the tourist spots in Southern California which included a tour of Universal Studios, a day at Disneyland and a day on the beach at Santa Monica. Doyle and the boys also en- - joyed a Los Angeles Dodger ga me. They then traveled to San Diego where they visited Lynns aunt, Mrs. Gwen Bacon. They spent a day at Sea World and visited the San Diego Zoo. On their return they visited in Cedar City at the home of Brent and Susan Orchard where they enjoyed some golfing and a trip out to Zions National Park. On Leave Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Simper this past two weeks has been Mr. and Mrs. Brent (Jo Ann) Hansen and children, Tiffany and Charee. They were here on leave from Fort Ord, Calif., and have spent time at Brents parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonda Hansen in Brigham City. Also up to visit at the Simpers has been Alan and Cheryl Simper of Provo. Completing the family gatherings has been Roger and Janice Jacobsen who are now residents of Perry. They are living in Vinson Davis little home just across from Simpers. Royal and Zina Petersen have Mantua Meanderings Congratulations go to newlyweds by Joy Jepperson Everything is late news. But late news is better than no news at all. Right? Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Van Wayne Claybaugh on their marriage of May 17 in Nevada. Cathy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Cracas of Brigham City and Van is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Claybaugh of Brigham City. The newly weds are now at home in Vans house in Mantua. Other newlyweds are (once David upon a time Mantua-ite- ) Boyd Ellis and wife Shellilagh Wilson. Shellilagh is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Wilson of Portland, Ore., and Dave is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd L. Ellis of Brigham City. They are now at home in Brigham City while Dave is still busy coaching a little league team, (which he does great, I might add, because he seems to truly have a love for the boys.) They were married the 30th day of May in Logan. New Oldies New oldies to Mantua are Carol and Willey Southern who have bought the Green home. A new baby is at the home of the William Hoopes. A bouncing boy was born at 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Happy birthday to Allyson Reeves who celebrated her 7th birthday on May 20th by having a fun birthday party with her cousins and friends. They played games and had refreshments. Her grandparents also came to visit, making a very nice day for her. Also Happy Birthday to Tyler Carr and Steven Christensen who celebrated by having a joint family party. Tyler turned three while his older cousin became 19. Invited were the Bruce Carr family, the Guy Higley family, Marilyn Christensen and daughter Vickie and a friend of Vickies. Speaking of Hansens, we were sorry to lose the Paul Hansens who now live in Brigham City. Dennis Allred was left out of our graduating class list. Sorry about that Dennis and we offer congraulations on your graduating. Also to the Allreds we say, Mary, what on earth happened last week? Mary was doing the irrigating (because Cliff and Dennis were on Scout venture) and fell, and brokS'tier leg in three places. A pin was inserted by an operation and now Mary is recouperating in the hospital. We wish you home and healed soon.
