Show FORMER RESIDENT MEETS DEATH IN MOTORACCIDENT Funeral services were conducted conduct-ed Tuesday at Forest Lawn, Glendale, Calif., for Earl William Nepple, 57, a Los Angeles hotel manager, who was instantly killed kill-ed the evening of June 22 in an unusual highway accident. The wingtip of a low-flying plane sliced through the windshield of the automobile Nepple was driving driv-ing and decanitated him. Mr. and Mrs. Nepple were en route to Los Angeles from an extended ex-tended vacation in Utah, New Mexico and Arizona when the accident occurred near Wicken-burg, Wicken-burg, Ariz. The Arizona highway patrol officials said they had obtained ob-tained from a fragment of the wing the number of the plane, which continued on its flight, and were able to trace the operator. Mr. Nepple's wife, Marie, and a passenger were seated beside Mr Nepple when the accident happened, but were uninjured. Beside the widow, survivors include a daughter, Lurcne Nepple, Nep-ple, and a son, Sgt. Richard E. Nepple of Meridian, Miss. Mr. Nepple operated hotels at Boston Consolidated, Highland Boy and in Copperfield from 1910 until seven years ago, when the family moved to Morenci, Ariz. lor the past year Mr. Nepple had operated operat-ed a Los Angeles hotel. o |
