Miss WSC pageant to be held March 28 Women students at Weber State College who are interested in entering the Miss Weber State Pageant are encouraged to have their applications in by Feb. The pageant will be held March 28. 29. Julie Sumner, contest chairpian, said application forms! can be picked up at the main desk of the WSC Union Building or the Associated Students offices. Miss Sumner said the contestants will be judged in four areas, including a personal interview with the judges, formal wear com- petition, swimsuit designed to include any and all forms of talent. She said the pageant will mainly center around the poise, scholarship and talent of each contestant. To enter the pageant the student must be 18 to 24 years old, never married, engaged or have any children, and have at least a 2.0 grade point average. Each contestant must be carrying at least 10 credit hours during the Winter quarter, she added. Bart Bushman-11- 2 lbs., and Danny Eastman-18- 5 lbs., placed second. Brad Story-13- 0 lbs., and Eric Burton-15- 5 lbs. won first place at the wrestling meet. More than 75 students received n awards for making the honor roll six times. Randy Bastian reported on the new Varsity Scouting program for boys ages 14 to 16 to Governor Matheson, representing the five Utah five boys, councils. Bruce Liston, who represented the Exploring program to the governor, is the Lake Bonneville Council Exploring Presidents Association Chairman, over the 2000 Explorers in the council. Rod Hutchens, of Ogden, is the National Vice President of Exploring, representing the western half of the United States. The Hinrichs brothers live in North Ogden. Scott is the section chief of the five Utah councils for the Order of the Arrow a service branch of the scouts. Boys are elected to the order by their peers for outstanding camping and service records. Lynn is the Lodge Chief the Lake Bonneville Council. The district has a full of activities program planned for boys on all levels of Scouting during 1980. They will have four high adventure activities for boys 14 and older who are registered in any of the Scouting programs: a desert trip, a Green River raft trip, a canoe trip on Yellow Stones Lake and a 50 mile hike ' Stone through Yellow National Park. The Scouts recently held a Klondike Derby at North Fork Park with 200 boys participating in winter fun activities. They will meet again in May for a skills competition and camping fun at the annual Camporee. Camp Bartlett and Camp Loll will be available for summer camping activities. The Cub Scouts are looking forward to the day camp at Camp Keisel and to the Mountain Man Rendezvous competition this summer.
