Show U. of U. NEWS BUREAU Part of the investigation by the United States public health service on colds and grippe will be made at the University of Utah. One thousand thous-and students of the university will be asked to submit voluntary report twice a month in order to further the work of the health, service. It is the plan of J. C. .Tounsend medical officer in charge of the influenza in-fluenza investigation, to study cases throughout the whole counry In order or-der that minor throat and nose ailments ail-ments can be properly diagnoses. For this purpose colleges representative represen-tative of certain sections have been asked to send in reports ot their students. The University of Utah has been selected for the Intermountaln country. The statistical information thui compiled will be used to facilitate the study of colds and grippe, their cause, and prevention. The gathering of the data will be , in charge of Dr. H. L. Marshall, the head of the students' health service. It is plannedl. for the most part, to have the students in the various hygiene hy-giene classes submit reports on the subject of their colds. Two hundred students have so far signified their desire to do so. It is expected that the quota of a thousand will be filled fil-led in the near future. The students pledging their aid in this investigation investiga-tion will submit their observations on blanks supplied for the purpose, twice a month, and the reports will be forwarded to the health service at Washington. |
