Show MILFORD Soolslsr - Clubs , 1 ON MARCH 6, Mrs. Mary j Wiseman honored Mrs. Marie Brinkman with a turkey dinner on the occassion of her birthday. Mrs. Brinkman received very lovely gifts and cards. Guests enjoying the dinner were Mrs. Carl Wiseman, Mrs. Barbara McGinn, Mc-Ginn, Mrs. Jean Rae Thompson and Mrs. Annetta Bloome. The evening was spent in chatting. MRS. THERESA PITCH-FORTH PITCH-FORTH entertained the Friday Night Bridge Club March 8. A very lovely lunch was served and the rest of the evening was spent in playing cards. Prizes were won by Mrs. Florence Rickerson, Mrs. Nina Bingham and Mrs. Lena Morris. Mrs. Cora Jones, Mrs. THE MEMBERS of Escalante " Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign For-eign Wars held their regular monthly meeting at the home of the president, Magdalena White, March 12. Election of officers was held with Nina Bingham elected president. Other officers elected were: Hannah Smith, sr. vice; Theresa Pitchforth, jr. vice; Ethel Smith, treasurer; Lu-cile Lu-cile Raines, chaplain; conduct-oress, conduct-oress, Frances Kinross; guard, Ella Parkinson; Susan Glenn, three year trustee; Lillian Atkins, At-kins, two year trustee and Frances Fran-ces Kinross acts as chairman. There will be seven appointive officers to be selected . by the president-elect. Installation will be April 12. Mrs. White served a delicious salad course. MRS. MARJORIE HARTON was pleasantly surprised March 7 with a birthday party at the home of Mrs. Afton Neilson with Mrs. Jessie Williams as co-hostess. The honored guest received a number of lovely gifts and cards. A Birthday Pie and coffee was served and the afternoon was spent in visiting. Guests were: Mrs. Catherine Singleton, Mrs. Molly Schnackenburger, Mrs. Esther Blake, Mrs. Magdar lena White and Mrs. Myrtle Tri-bole. Tri-bole. MRS. PAT JOHNSON entertained enter-tained her pinochle club Thurs. night. A delicious lunch was served to Phyllis Price, Marjorie Harton, Jerry Memmott, Luella Fisher, Margaret Arnold, Lois Hollis, Jean Holland and Ann Bolton. Hazel Baxter and Mrs. Florence a Woods. MRS. VERA BEITZ entertained enter-tained her pinochle club March 12 and presented Mrs. Serelda Fernley with the club birthday gift. Prizes were won by Mrs. Jerry Memmott, Mrs. Marjorie Harton and Mrs. Virginia Bed-ingfield. Bed-ingfield. A very nice lunch was served. Other members present were Mrs. Edin Cook, Mrs. Lesa Ack-lin, Ack-lin, Mrs. Helen Bolton and Mrs. La Vera Meeker. MRS. ESSIE THOMPSON was surprised on her birthday, March 7th,' with a party given by Mrs. Florence Rickerson and Mrs. Vera Cooper. Bunco was played, and prizes were won by Fay Thompson, Elzma Blackburn Black-burn of Minersville, and Mrs. Lavern Bunker. A two-course lunch was served and Mrs. Thompson received re-ceived a number of very nice gifts and cards. Others present were Mrs. Maude Mills, Mrs. Jessie Williams, Wil-liams, Mrs. Theresa Pitchforth Mrs. Cora Altaian, Mrs. Vanette ! McKnight, Mrs. Afton Nielson, j and Mrs. Florence Woods oi Minersville. MRS. MAX BAXTER and Mrs. Wesley Paice attended a reception in the Gold Room at the State Capitol in Salt Lake, honoring Mrs. George Dewey Clyde. The affair was sponsored spon-sored by State Republican Women's Wom-en's Clubs. THE MEMBERS of Sego Lily Division No. 500 of the G I A to the B of L E and guests enjoyed en-joyed a delicious banquet March 7th at the Greenhorn Cafe. A short business meeting was held at the home of the president, presi-dent, Mrs. Margaret Lund. Mrs. Myrtle Bothwell, assistant grand vice president of the Grand Division Di-vision of Ogden, made an official offi-cial visit to Sego Lily. She spoke briefly, inviting the members to attend the state meeting to be held in Ogden in September, and urged this division to exemplify exem-plify a form of the floor work. Mrs. Jetta Rouse, Mrs. Bertha Blackburn and Mrs. Ada Ware, members of Clara Barton Division Divi-sion of Ogden, gave short talks. The four visitors were presented present-ed with beautiful hand made gifts. . ' Bridge and pinochle were played, with prizes going to Mrs. Garnetta Hollis, Mrs. Ada Ware and Mrs. Lois Moore. The committee included Mrs. Lund, Mrs. Catherine Shingleton and Mrs. Wanda Holm. At the close of the evening a refreshing drink was served by the committee. commit-tee.
