The next day they were married mar-ried in Preston, Idaho and as Charles was the County Sheriff Sher-iff it became urge.nt they return re-turn home due to a strike on the railroad. Charles and Virsene had their marriage solemnized in the St. George Temple on Sept. 7 1926. To celebrate their fortieth for-tieth wedding anniversary they accompanied Frank and Dru-cella Dru-cella to the same temple to have their marriage solemnized. The young couples had contemplated con-templated marriage for some time and Virgene's mother wanted to visit an uncle in Blackfoot, Idaho, so they decided de-cided to combine the visit with a honeymoon and the two couples, with .Mrs. Wood and her four year old son, Royle, left in Charles Model T Ford, The children of Frank and Drucella Carter will honor their parents and Charles K. and Virgene Jameson at an Open House in honor of their Double Golden Wedding Anniversary Anni-versary on Saturday, Sept. 16 at the L.D.S. Church with a program and dance to follow. The public is invited and the couples request no gifts. Frank Carter was born on July 25, 1903 at Minersville, the son of Hayward and Inez Roberts Carter. Drucella was born Dec. 29, 1903 to Cyrus and Edith Roberts Bradfield. They are the parents of five children: chil-dren: Arlan "Bud", Bob, La Vere, Kent and Bonnie. They have 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Frank has1 been an active member of the LDS church, was a teacher of the deacons. He worked in the iron mines in Cedar City, and worked on the Minersville Reservoir when they faced the spillway and the outlet of the tunnel with rock. Worked on railroad for the B & B gang for eight years as carpenter and relief foreman, also, he has farmed for many years. He was a deputy sheriff for five years, then continued as deputy sheriff sher-iff and town Marshall for eight years. At the present time, he is the town water master. Drucella was active in the LDS church, she was song leader lead-er in the YLMIA, Relief Society Soc-iety and Primary. She also served as a counselor in the Primary and has been a visiting visit-ing teacher for many years. At present she is homemaking teacher in the Relief Society. Charles K. Jameson was born Sept. 15, 1894 at Minersville, the son of George and Rebekah Banks Jameson. He is a veteran veter-an of WWI, having served on four major fronts with the 148th Field Artillery. His oc-. cupations have included farming, farm-ing, mining, peace officer for Minersville and Beaver County, Sheriff and Deputy Sheriff. He was employed by the UPRR as a sectionman for 20 years, and retired in June I960. He was a member of the first Board of Directors of the Minersville Soil Conservation District and later became Pres. of the Board. He was elected a member of the Board of Directors Di-rectors of the Minersville Reservoir Res-ervoir and Irrigation Co. in 1929 and is still serving. As a member of the LDS church, he has been active all his life, having hav-ing served as a Sunday School teacher, home teacher, counselor counsel-or and later as President of the YMIA. He has been a Bishop's Bis-hop's counselor and Bishop of the Minersville Ward and was a member of the Beaver Stake High Counsel for 15 years. At present he is a High Priest group teacher and home teacher. teach-er. Virgene was born August 13, 1902 at Minersville to James W. and Laura Pearl Wood. She was a 4-H leader for several years and has served in all of the auxiliaries of the church. Primary President, Sunday School teacher and secretary, Relief Society counselor and teacher of Theology Class for 25 years. At present she is the Beaver Stake teacher for the visiting teachers and a Ward visiting teacher. The Jameson's have one daughter, Mrs. Jay (Dorene) Harrison, Tyler, Texas and a granddaughter, Mrs. Charles (Karma) Morris, Dangerfield, Texas. The four young people were married in a double wedding ceremony on Sept. 20, 1922 at Preston, Idaho. |
