Show Marriage Counselor Named for South Utah Judge Will L. Hoyt and Judge John L. Sevy, Jr. have just announced an-nounced their appointment of Mrs. Verna H. Minear to the position of Domestic Relations Counselor in their respective judicial districts. Mrs. Minear will serve in these districts as the newest staff member of the VERNA H. MINEAR recently established State of Utah Marriage Counseling Service. In the Fifth Judicial District, Mrs. Minear will be headquartered head-quartered at her home office in St. George Room 6, upstairs in the Cox Building. She will travel the length of the district, up U. S. 91, as far north as Nephi, and be available in each county seat on a "needs" basis. In the Sixth Judicial District, she will be located in Richfield and can be contacted through the county clerk there. Present plans call for her to be in Richfield Rich-field on a regular schedule but she will not be available for travel elsewhere throughout the District. Those interested in her services may arrange to see her either in Richfield or at one of the Fifth District county .seats. Mrs. Minear comes into- state service with a distinguished record rec-ord o'f academic and professional experience in the counseling field. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Denver University and her Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from George Washington University Univer-sity in Washington, D.C. While there she also served an internship intern-ship at St. Elizabeth's Hospital. During the next seven years she held several clinical and administrative positions in the East. She has had exceptional training and experience in working with alcoholic rehabilitation rehab-ilitation programs. In 1954 she and her husband, a retired consultant to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, came to Utah to make their home in St. George. Since that time she has carried on an active private practice in personal and family counseling. |
