Show DEATH FOLLOWS Wit OF AUTO RAPIDLY MOVING CAR PLOWS THROUGH PARTY OF SEVEN Police Find No Clue to Car Which j Wrought Havoc; No Immediate Witnesses to Accident; Driv. er Speeds Away Salt Lake City, Mrs. Christina Hansen, 05, wife of Andrew Hansen, of Sandy is dead and two others may die from injuries suffered Sunday night when an unidentified automobile automo-bile crashed into a party of seven persons, running down four of them, on the road near Sandy. The motorist fled the scene and has since failed to report the accident. Mrs. Annie Egbert suffered a broken arm, five fractured ribs and a deep throat cut and Is so low that only a trained nurse and the attending attend-ing surgeon are admitted to her room. Mrs. C. F Anderson, is suffering with probably serious internal injuries, injur-ies, a ruptured blood vess.el in iher neck and severe cuts and bruises. Maxine Egbert, 10, escaped with a broken leg and a deep scalp gash that may have injured her skull. Mrs. Hansen died at the residence in Sandy at 2 o'clock Monday morning, morn-ing, within a few hours after the accident. ac-cident. The death car dragged its victims many yards before freed of its gruesome cargo. Its driver fled the scene without offering to assist the injured. Mrs. Hansen ' suffered a. bise skull fracture and her head and body were bardly bruised and rut Ray S. McCarthy, assistant county attorney, is investigating and sheriff's sher-iff's deputies are cooperating with police officials of Murray, Midvale and Sandy in an effort to dentify the driver of the death car. The victims were all residents of Sandy. Passing autoistg rushed the mutilated women to the Midvale hospital from which, after emergency treatment, they were taken to their residences. |
