Interment was in Mountain MARTHA BARTON ' J DIES IN MURRAY Martha Horman Barton, former for-mer resident of Beaver Coun-tyt Coun-tyt died in a Murray rest home April 7, at the age of 83. z She was born in Tooele, Dec. 27, 1886, to Edmund D. and Martha Smith Horman. She married Phillip Jackson Barton Bar-ton St., Dec. 24, 1918t in Beaver. Bea-ver. The marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple. He died April 11, 1947. She was an active member of the LDS Church. She taught the literary lesson in the Greenville Ward Relief Society and was a block teacher teach-er for many yearsin Greenville and the Beaver East Ward. She was a charter member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers Pio-neers and was camp historian for two years. She gathered the history of Greenville and the Barton family for the Beaver Bea-ver County History, "Monuments "Monu-ments to Courage." She taught school in Ophir iand Deep Creek in Tooele County. She was a supervisor in a mattress factory in Green ville in 1940. ' i i In May, 1944 she and her husband moved to Beaver. She lived in Milford for three years, and also lived in Murray, Salem and Provo. In Provo she lived with her daughter, Esther Rollins, until six weeks before her death. Survivng are the following sons and daughters: Glenn E., Sacramento, Cal.; Ed, and Mrs. Keith J. (Esther) Rollins, Provo; Mrs. J. S. (Martha) Horman, Murray; Mrs. John G. (Virginia) Smith, Salt Lake and Calvin H., Carson City, Nev.; 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters Chas S. Horman, Ferndale, Mich.; Mary Leeth-am, Leeth-am, Lillie Holt, Salt Lake; Agnes Wible, Sacramento, Cal., and Joseph and Hyrum, Stockton, Stock-ton, Cal. Funeral services, conducted April 10 in the Greenville Ward Chapel under direction of Bishop Arthur Blackner, were as fcl'ow: Family prayer, John S. Horman. Hor-man.
