Show Five-County AOG Studies Advertising On May 4 the Five County Association Advertising Committee Com-mittee presented ot thee Steering Steer-ing Committee its rtcommended program and budget for Fiscal Year 1973-74. Mr. Jim Gwilliam and Mr. Lee Fife, Advertising Committee members, recommended recom-mended projects including a new color country brochure, a color couitry exhibit to be displayed dis-played at travel shows, ski shows, conventions, and exhibits, exhi-bits, and a rew film production. The Steering Committee reviewed review-ed and accepted the program as recommended. Special visitors at the Steering Steer-ing Committee meeting were Mr. Paul Rose, Executive Director Di-rector of Social Services, and Mr. Dale Wiliams, Deputy Director Di-rector for Social Services. Mr. Rose and Mr. Williams reviewed review-ed the affects of Senate Bill 97 passed in the recent Statt Legislative Leg-islative Seessicn which provides for seperate advisory boards for Family Services and Assistance Assist-ance Payments functions. Following Fol-lowing the presentation Commissioner Com-missioner Merrill MacDonald, Kane County, made a motion adopted by the Steering Committee Com-mittee that the Five Counties create a district advisory board for Assistance Payments which would include two representatives representa-tives from each county. In ether action, the Steering Committee adopted a motion by Mayor Loren Whetten of Cedar City to approve a new District Comprehensive Manpower program, pro-gram, which provides for the Five County Association to set priorities and coordinate manpower man-power funds flowing into the dstrict. It is anticipated that during fiscal year 1974 some $165 000 will be contracted out to afj'cies in the district for manpower services. The Steerirg Committee also gave area-wide approval to a St. Georpe application for Bureau Bu-reau of Outdoor Recreation Funds for construction of an additional ad-ditional gclf course, a New Harmony application for an FHA Loan to improve their culinary water system and to an Iron County Application for Law Enforcement Assstance Administration Ad-ministration Funds. |
