She comes well recommended rec-ommended as a good business woman and should make a success of the Utah Theatre. H. A. Sims returned to Salt Lake City Wednesday. George K. Lund of St. George was in Milford last Wednesday. City Councilman Hickman took a trip to Cedar City and other interior points this week. Mrs. J. A. A shipment of ore cars and iron drills was received at the freight depot for the Moscow mine the first of the week. The Delta Land & Water Company Com-pany received a large shipment of barbed wire this week for more fencing fenc-ing to be constructed on the project. Vera Shaffer, a little girl eight years of age in the second grade in the grammar school, fell and broke both bones of a forearm last Tuesday. Tues-day. Mrs. Sarah ITollister, state superintendent super-intendent of primary work, is visiting visit-ing Beaver county schools this week. She spent Wednesday and Thursday in Milford. Supt. E. H. White is accompanying her on the trip of inspection. in-spection. L. W. Merriman of Eureka, superintendent super-intendent of . the Beaver Copper, Beaver Lake Metals and of the Old Crater mining companies, will arrive in Milford tonight to spend some time in inspecting the properties. Mrs. Mattie Eleanor Reynolds Hardy, who died here suddenly the first of the week, was born at Monroe, Mon-roe, Utah, thirty-one years ago. She had lived in Milford the past five years. The real cause of her death is said to have been grief over the loss of her husband. She leaves two children, Kenneth and Eleanor. Mrs. Rose E. Deasy of Denver is In Milford endeavoring to organize a camp of the Ladies of the Maccabees, which is the ladies' auxiliary of the Maccabees. Mere man cannot become be-come a member. Mrs. Deasy informs the News that she is meeting with considerable encouragement among leading ladies of Milford and expects to be able to organize strong lodges both here and at Beaver in this county. Land Commissioner Herbert Nichols Nich-ols took a trip to Salt Lake City on mining business the first of the week. ' From that city he went out to the big -mines at Eureka and other points and had a very interesting trip. Mr. iTichols brought home some ore samples from some of the big mines and "there are a lot of mines in Beaver county that can show equally attractive samples," says Mr. Nichols. Ross Barton was over from Cedar City last Wednesday. Thomas Davenport of Parowan was here Monday. H. O. Hall, G. n! Allen and B. F. Allen of Hyrum formed a party at the Milford Hotel yesterday. "Bill" Lund of the Golden Rule force of accommodating sales people has been on the sick list a few days. George Cline of Watsonville, California, Cali-fornia, is in Milford for a few days. He is with the Salt Lake Route's bridge building force. Mrs. Len Howd passed through Milford this morning returning to her home at Beaver from Salt Lake City. Earl Hodges and Mr. McGarry came down from Salt Lake City Tuesday and are looking after their interests in this county for a few days. . I Charles E. Beard has taken a position posi-tion aa salesman in the store of his brother-in-law A. F. McCulley and is incidentally going to superintend farming operations on his homestead near Milford this summer. |
