Show PROSPECTS FINE FOR UTAH FRUIT CROP The Utah State Fruit Growers' association as-sociation will begin a campaign at once to put Utah fruits on the eastern east-ern markets. At a meeting of the directors di-rectors of the association It was decided de-cided to" place P. E. MacGregor, who has been traffic manager for the association, asso-ciation, in charge as manager for the coming year. The renewed activity of the growers of the state was brought about through the favorable reports which were received from the fruit sections of the state. W. H. Homer, secretary of the association, said Indications are that the fruit crop of this state will exceed that nf former years. The continued cold weather has postponed the blooming period and the fruit growers are satisfied that the crop this year will not be caught in the killing frosts such as were prevalent throughout the intermountain intermoun-tain country during the spring and early summer of 1916 and which caused hundreds of thousands of dollars' dol-lars' loss in Utah and Idaho. Mr. Homer said the indications are that the apple and peach crops will be heavy. |
