Foundation analysts anal-ysts point out that most Washington Wash-ington observers have been freely free-ly predicting such tax reductions for some time. Although there is considerable agreement about the prospects for tax cuts next year, the Foundation Foun-dation notes that there may be some question as to how much of a cut should be put through and which groups" should benefit most by It. The Foundation report re-port quotes various legislative and administrative leaders who predict that the cuts might a-mount a-mount to as much as $5 billion. The Utah Foundation report states that it appears ilkely that scheduled -reductions in the coc-poration coc-poration tax finally may be allowed al-lowed to take effect next year. Corporation taxes, which were "temporarily" Increased to 52 per cent during the Korean War, had been scheduled to be reduced reduc-ed to 47 per cent on April 1, 1954. However, this promised reduction reduc-tion twice has been postponed. The $64 question, according to the Foundation, will be In deciding decid-ing how much of a cut should be given to individual Income tax 1 payers and ' which taxpayer group should benefit most by the reductions. Some members of Congress believe that the biggest slashes should occur in the higher high-er brackets where rates now range up to 91 per cent., while others are equally sure that the cuts should start with the lower brackets.
