Some of our more talented members tied off a beautiful queen-siz- e quilt, with cream colored lace, which will belong to some lucky person after the final Christmas Delight drawing. The quilt is on display at Dukes Clothing, and tickets are available there and at Zion's Pharmacy. Proceeds from the quilt will be used toward the purchase of a good telex ision set for a room in the Kane County Hospital. Members also voted to donate money toward a nursing home project in lieu of the traditional personal gifts for residents there. Cancer Support Group Sets First Meeting Dec. 10 The newly-formeCancer Support Group will meet for the first time today at 7 p.m. in the basement of the Fredonia Public Library. Dr. Margaret Mears, who opera ates her practice out of her Fredonia office, will be the group's first speaker. Invited to the meeting are persons who have cancer, had cancer or want to learn more about it. Informal discussion will give participants a chance to learn from each other and to share experiences. Martinez of the Disabled American Veterans Tuesday December 15 in Kanab at the Job Service Center from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Martinez is the Department Service Officer for the DAV and has been accredited by the Veterans Administration to accept and present claims tofor the Veterans Administration. These claims may involve requests for compensation, pension, medical treatment, VA home loan defaults, and education. He will also assist any veteran or widow of a veteran in answering correspondence or completing forms from the Veterans Administration. Shelby Sorensen Will Marry Patrick Fadely Shelby Sorensen and Patrick Fadely will be joined in marriage December 18 at the home of the brides parents in Orderville. Shelby is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hans T. Sorensen of Orderville. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Fadely of St. George. A graduate of Valley High School, Shelby also attended Southern Utah State College and is currently employed in St. George. Patrick attended school in Layton and served for two years in the U.S. Army Engineers Corp stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas. The newlyweds will make their home in St. George where both are employed. Vets Of Outreach Program Offered Help On Dec. 15 Karma Ford and Rixey Riddle were first couple married on the new Kanab golf course. A beautiful first for Kanab -Karma Cram Ford and Rixey S. Riddle were united in matrimony December 5, 1987 on the colorful Kanab Golf Course. The Coral Cliffs Golf Course was selected by the bride because of its beauty and charm. Today, Thursday, December 10, is the day when Rancho readers can check out materials for their reading pleasure at a place that is convenient, Duct said. He reminded SlN readers that the Bookmobile would be at the Rancho Firehouse between 4:13 and 5:15 today. Tom of Cedar City are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter, Merrillee to Denny Brown, son of Gail Brown and the late Mark H. Denny joined the air force on August 5 and took his basic training at Lackland AFB in Texas. At the present time he is at Kesler AFB in Mississippi, presently graduating from his technical training there and he was on the commanders honor roll. The young couple will make their first home in Louisiana. Merrillee from Kayenta High graduated School in 1987 and has been attending SUSC in Cedar City where she played on the volleyball team. Jackson Ladies and Men's Timex and Funeral services were held November 28, 1987 in the Hurricane LDS 6th Ward chapel to honor John Robert Jackson, a former resident of Kanab. John was born January 29, 1944 in Pasadena, California to Lewis D. and Ellen Glazier Jackson. He attended elementary and high school in Kanab and was active in football, basketball and baseball and graduated in 1962.
