Naylor said the drainage area is fairly large, and has been denuded by a number of range fires over the years. w "When the rains come, the water simply pours down into the valley," he said. Utah County had an engineering study made in 1980 by a consulting firm, which recommended extensive contour trenching on the hillsides to retain the water. "When they came up with a price tag of $3 million, no one know where the money would come from," he commented. Naylor said the area suffers flooding out of the Tickville drainage almost every year, often during the spring runoff.
