Show Thursday, May 18, 2006 NORTH COUNTY NEWSPAPERS Page 15 Obituaries Raymond Bruce Evans Tremonton - Raymond Bruce Evans, 85, passed away peacefully Friday, May 12, 2006 in Tremonton, Utah of natural causes. Bruce was born February Febru-ary 9, 1921 in Lehi, Utah, son of Aaron and Beulah Thomas Evans, the fifth of seven children: chil-dren: Thelda, Dean, Glen, Grant, Paul and Lawrence Evans. All preceded him in death and what a reunion they must be having. Bruce was proud of his pioneer ancestry and Lehi family. His love of horses and cattle developed devel-oped early on the Saratoga Road homestead. Bruce was educated in Lehi schools and continued his education throughout his life.. He married Vivian Seastrand of American Fork, Utah December 1941; they were later sealed in the Mesa, Arizona Ari-zona LDS Temple. They had four children: Brian, Kent, Lori and Kathi. They moved to Prescott, Arizona for health reasons in 1955. Bruce spent most of his life as a rancher and a public official serving serv-ing as County Head of the Census, Arizona State Appraiser of Farms and Ranches (four years), Director Direc-tor of Yavapai County Planning and Zoning (five years), Yavapai County Supervisor (Commissioner) (eight years). He held various positions posi-tions in the Republican Party, 4-H and PTA. He held many clerk and teaching positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Delbert LeRoy Sudweeks "Together Again" Delbert LeRoy Sudweeks, 94, passed away at the Heritage Care Center in American Fork on May 15, 2006. He was born on December 3, 1911 in Nephi, Utah to Delbert Sudweeks and Martha Ann Weaver. He married Elsie Mae Gaisford on October 15, 1935. A year later, they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. He worked at the mines in Lark, Utah until it's closure. He was custodian cus-todian of the LDS Seminary and the Lehi Post Office, and was a rural route carrier. He served in many auxiliaries of the church including Ward Financial Clerk, Elder's Quorum Quo-rum Presidency, 1st counselor in the Bishopric for 10 years and High Priest Group Leader. Bruce volunteered for 15 years to help manage the LDS Stake Ranch on Mingus Mountain in Arizona. He loved doing this with close cowboy cow-boy buddies. After retiring in 1983, he and Vivian traveled the 50 states, Canada Can-ada and Mexico with his "Monday Night Wrinkleheads" in their motor homes. What choice friends! Bruce and Vivian served a Family History Mission in Salt lake City and truly enjoyed it. In 1977, they sold their home in Prescott, AZ and moved to Tremonton, Trem-onton, UT to once again be back in Utah. Bruce is survived by his wife, Vivian of 641' 2 years, four children: Brian (Elizabeth) Evans, Kent S. (Charlotte) Evans, Lori (Richard) Nicholas and Kathi (Jay) Kirkham, 24 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren and three sisters-in-law: Edna, Lucile and Connie Evans. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 18, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the Tremonton Stake Center, Cen-ter, 660 North 400 East, Tremonton with Bishop Michael Bowcutt officiating. of-ficiating. A viewing will be held Wednesday, May 17 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton, Tremon-ton, Utah and also from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. She was born March 13, 1923 in Tremonton, Utah to Is rael Hoyt and Mary Elma Nessen Fackrell, and was the 2nd child of 9 children. She grew up in Howell, Utah and graduated gradu-ated from Bear River High School. She married her sweetheart, Melvin Morris Grover January 6, 1942 in the Logan LDS Temple. Their union produced 2 daughters and 5 sons. They moved to Townsend, Montana Mon-tana in 1952. She was an exceptional and elegant woman, with a contagious smile, and blessed with great physical physi-cal and spiritual beauty. All her life she quietly demonstrated a Christlike Christ-like love and charity for everyone who came in contact with her. By example, she taught us the love of family, of the Savior, long suffering suffer-ing (going through the loss of her 2 sons and sweetheart), forgiveness, and love, and never ending selfless self-less service. Her loving kindness has left a lasting impression on our lives with all who knew her. She taught us frugality, hard work, vhf Edna Clara Rodeback Carter Edna Clara Rodeback Carter, age 92, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great -great-grandmother, died peacefully on May 14, 2006 in American Ameri-can Fork, Utah. She was born August Au-gust 12, 1913 in Pleasant Grove, Utah to Edmand and Vilate Smith Rodeback. She 11 V married Lyman Ly-man Carter on August 21, 1934 in Provo, Utah. The marriage was later lat-er sealed in the Provo LDS Temple. Edna received her education in Pleasant Grove and Provo. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served actively in the Primary and Relief Society for many years. Some of Dona's favorite things were shopping and going out to lunch with friends and family, but mostly visiting with loved ones. She loved to paint, decorate cakes, quilt, woodworking, snowmobiling , and gardening. Because of her own health concerns, she studied intensely in-tensely many books on the subject. Her greatest love was her family. She drove the school bus for over 12 years, 80 miles a day, rain or shine and sometimes even plowing through snowdrifts. She drove over 3,000 miles in those years. She is survived by: Karen (Bert) Rogers, Gene (Milyn) Grover, Kent (Crystal) Grover, Lonnie (Doug) Hunt, Martin (Meredyth) Grover, 26 grandchildren, and 42 l'2 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Melvin, April 19, 1992 and by her sons Donell Wayne, Noel Richard and by her granddaughter Maria Rogers. A visitation was held for friends and family in American Fork on Tuesday May 16, 2006 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary Mor-tuary (49 East 100 North). Lenard Edson Rockwell Lenard Edson Rockwell, 81, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle died peacefully in his sleep Sunday, May 14, 2006 due to complications complica-tions from Pulmonary Fibrosis. The son of Edson and Carrie Katherine Robinson Rockwell, Lenard was born on September 12, 1924 in American Fork. He was raised in Lehi and surrounding sur-rounding areas and attended schools in the Alpine School District. Lenard was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a deep and abiding faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ. In his youth, Lenard was a jockey in Kentucky and Nevada. Ne-vada. He was a self-taught min-eralologist min-eralologist and enjoyed prospecting pros-pecting for gold and he finally found the "mother load." He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and riding horses. Some of his favorite memories were being a cowboy herding critters. crit-ters. Lenard married his sweetheart sweet-heart Twila Porter on April 17, 1947. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
