Show SERVICES HELD FOR OSCAR POTTER Funeral services were conducted con-ducted in the Minersville L. D. S. Chapel Tuesday afternoon for Israel Lorenzo Oscar Potter, 81, who died at his home Saturday morning of causes incident to age. - j A quartet composed of Sylvia Davis, Wilma Davis, Milton Al-brecht Al-brecht and Lee Marshall sang "Face to Face," accompanied by Phyllis Truman. Ben Croft gave the opening prayer. Charlene Heslington and David Da-vid Williams sang "My Testimony," Testi-mony," accompanied by Anna Rae Carter. Frank D. Williams read the obituary and made appropriate ap-propriate remarks. David Williams sang "Father," "Fath-er," and Ben Croft Jr. spoke. Both speakers eulogized the quiet, respectful life of the deceased, de-ceased, and emphasized the traits which had earned for him the reputation of being a good neighbor. The quartet sang "Oh My Father," and Merrill Jameson pronounced the benediction. Mr; Potter was born in Lorraine,- Ohio, April 8, 1870, a son of Amassa and Ellen Calkins Calk-ins Potter. He married Charlotte Char-lotte Delores Tanner in Beaver. He followed the mining trade for many years, and spent the last few years of his life truck gardening. He was an active member of the L D S Church. He is survived by five sons, Paul Potter and Albert Potter of Minersville; LeRoy Potter ' of Beaver; Mahlon Potter of San Francisco, and Fred Potter of 1 Bronson, Mo.; two daughters, Mrs. Letha Beaumont of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Barbara Lindsay of Beaver; and 10 grandchildren. Burial was in the Minersville cemetery. |
