their thrifty progress led them into practical channels and the needful needful needful need need- ful affairs of life crowded fast upon them this scenic wonder of the West lay undisturbed in its only occasionally visited by some Intrepid in intrepid intrepid In- In trepid wanderer into the wilds Recently it has been rediscovered and the discoverers have built a road into it established a camp at its en entrance entrance entrance en- en trance and now the tourist and the tho visitor or from abroad is isa a daily visitor And every visitor g goes es away to sound its praises to tell of its vast magnificence magnificence magnificence cence its Hs indescribable beauty and its unexplored and unknown extent The word little has been dropped from its name and now it is known as a worthy companion to California's Yosemite and Arizona's Grand canyon canyon canyon can can- yon as Zion canyon The Tho United States national parks service recognized its value and through Utah's representatives in congress congress congress con con- gress fifteen thousand dollars was vas ap appropriated appropriated appropriated ap- ap for a road within the established established lines of National Monument by which name it is officially officially officially known Efforts are being made to have it crea created d a national park under under under un un- un- un der the accepted name of Zion NaI National National Na Na- I Park to conform to the local name so so well known The state of Utah I constructed a road in from a point known as Andersons Anderson's ranch on the I Arrowhead trail and now travel has hasI already shown the wisdom of the road construction I The Tho location of this latest addition to the scenic wonders of the West is in Washington county just north of St. St George l known as green above the above the floor of the valley is carpeted with v verdure ur and the plateau above forested with pine trees One may see Zion canyon in one day If you arrive by dinner time stay two
