P. Johnson family does. In memory of their an-cest- ers who have passe on they have a family reunion. This year their reunion was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Davis 8120 Danish Road. Neiomi Davis is the daughter of N. P. Johnson. The day was spent partially at the Davis home and then moved on to Glacier Park in the mouth of Little Cotton-wood Canyon for the rest of the days observance. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Edger Mitchell of Murray, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Davis and son of Salt Lake; Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Maughan, Preston, Idaho; and Mr. and Mrs. Roy , Maughan from Ogden. Others joining the reunion were Dr. and Mrs. Jack Parry of Price; Mr. and Mrs. James Johnson and family, Rock Springs, Wyoming. Motoring down frfcim Odgen were Mr. and Mrs. John Chid-est- er and family and Mr. and Mr. and Mrs. Brentley Mitchell and family. Terry Neff, 7505 Butler Hill Drive, slipped down the moun-tainside. Terry seized a rock and prevented his falling into the creek, but Maynard was not so lucky. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Wyane S. Marble 7071 South 2930 East, who become new parents May 25th. Monty Montgomery, 2757 Carol Drive, returned horns from Pennsylvania to meet his new son, Larry, who put in hii appearance while daddy was away. Tex and Babs Winslow, 2775 Pamelo Drive, just returned from a trip to Ft. Collins, Colo, where daughter, Dottie, is at-tending college. The Tri-De- lt sorority, to which Dottie be-longs, held their family day with an open house for the parents of the girls. Dottie was elected "Aggie Angel" by the Air ROTC on Campus, which is quite an honor in as much as it . is judged upon Scholastic standing and student activities. And I'm sure Dottie's beauty and charm didn't hurt a bit. The Winslows are expecting a house guest this week as Buzz Gunnison flys in from San Mrs. McKnight had driven the boys up the canyon so they could hike back down the road to their homes. A two hour search was undertaken by some 300 volun-teers and 24 men of the Sheriffs Posse before the body was re-covered some 200 feet down stream from where he had fallen in. Actual recovery of the body was made by Douglas Guiver, 7735 South 2325 East, Thayne Christiansen, 7686 So. 2325 East, and James Andrews, 2356 East 7785 South. Maynard McKnight was born in San Francisco, March 30, 1947 to John F. and Katherine Healy McKnight. He had just completed the fourth grade, at Mt. View Elementary School. Survivors include his parents, one brother, John Joseph, one sister, Nadine, of Cottonwood Heights, and grandmothers Mxs. Myrtle Healy, 7485 South 2300 East, and Mrs. Lillian McKnight, Brooklyn, N.Y. Francisco. Dottie will be home from school and they will be joined, by Dick Evans and girl friend for a week's stay with the Winslows. Butler Third Ward is spon-soring a dance at the ward this coming Saturday, June 7th, as a money making project for the new ward house. These dances - are going to be held every other Saturday and everyone is invited to attend. A terrible tragedy befell our community this - past week when 11-ye- ar old Maynard McKnight slipped from the side of the mountain in the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon and fell some 50 feet into the rag-ing waters of Big Cottonwood Canyon Creek. Maynard, a son of Mr. and Mrs. John F. McKnight, 7534 2300 East, was hiking with 3 companions down the side of the mountain when , he and V'jaa jjj - rV I'SJZ Ji The suoomg action cp a r --Vl- C f "taaVD "maoo k so powerful, - .v ."H' K iuZZ&'JT ' 11 CAU liT TRAINS FROM v,; ) w tub tracks and toss I ySFJ; s3S trucks around like I 'ry 7 :;, ' - RUBBER BALLS the I :.:yf- v : : mnos in the center op.
