Besides the games mentioned for the stake outin ; we are going to run three or four tennis tournaments during the summer, Carroll Farley will be in charge of tennis for the stake with the following representing the wards: Stanley Farley, Timpan ogos; Jack Conder, Edgemont; Duane Madsen, Lake View; Joseph Blake, Vineyard; Kay Snow, Pleasant Ww; Elmer Riding, Grand View; iVfMil ton Bellows, Sharon. The time of the tennis tournaments will be announced later, We are going to have singles and doubles for both men and, women and mixed doubles. Baseball is being sponsored by the M Men this year. Their schedule is already drawn up and the teams are ready to go except from' two of the largest wards (Sharon and Timpan ogos), we are in hopes that they will enter teams even if the schedule does have to be rearranged. The schedule for all of the other games will fit in with the baseball schedule. The same day that wards compete with each other in baseball they will also compete with each other in all of the other games. Soft ball will be played from 2 to 3; baseball from 3 to 5; Van ball (girls) 2 to 3; boys, 3 to 4; horse shoe 4 to 6. By MRS. SOFT BILL PROGRESSING; RULES OF CONDUCT GIVEN In the opening tilt of the soft ball league Timp beat Sharon 8 to 4. Much enthusiasm and inteerst has been shown in the soft ball so far this season. With the soft ball epidemic raging in the surrounding towns it is possible that the soft ball league will comand as much or more attention than the regular baseball. Due to the hot weather it was thought advisable to change the time of playing from Saturday afternoon to possibly sometime on Tuesday evenings. The fololwing is a list of the soft ball rules of conduct. The rules are the same as baseball with the following exceptions. Soft Ball rules: 1. There shall be ten men on the team instead of nine. 2. The ball must be delivered to the batter thrown under handed, passing not more than six inches from the pitchers leg. 3. If the batter misses the last strike he is out. 4. The runner must hold his base until after the ball has passed the batter, then he is at liberty to run from first to second and from second to third bases, but not from third to home. Rules of Conduct: 1. Each team shall have a captain and a manager. 2. The home team shall furnish the ball or balls for the game. 3. Each manager shall have a referee familiar with the rules and regulations of soft ball. 4. Any team failing to appear without notifying the other team twenty-fou- r hours in advance will foreeit the game. 5. There shall be no vulgarity, profanity or abusive language used by anyone participating in the game. Any member continuing such practice shall be disqualified.. Should a manager let such a player continue to play his team will be disqualified. 6. No smoking will be allowed while the player is participating in the game. 7. Any difficulties or troubles may be presented to the stake manager who will render the final decision. Think It Over! How can it be done?
