The shock of the first semester grades has worn off and everyone has set his goal to do just a little better next time THE SENIOR CLASS Is sponsoring a beard growing contest for its members. All interested boys appeared Monday morning with cleanly shaved faces and entered the contest. Winners of the contest will be announced in February. This should prove to be a very interesting event. Many of the THS boys have been trying to grow beards on their own but now they have some real competition. The swimming team was victorious last Thursday as they defeated East High School This was a big win for the Buffs as East has been a thorn in their side all season. Tuesday the wrestling team met the Jordan Beetdiggers on the Jordan mats. Vice President of THS, will be presented to the students in two split sessions Thursday and Friday. This arrangement must be made because of the limited pace in the school 30-1- 1 auditorium. The Traveling Assembly will start traveling to the various schools in the region early in February. The exchange program has been in effect for some time now and provides a pleasant mear.s of encouraging good relationships between the schools. A meeting of the Student Council was called Wednesday afternoon by President Jim Benson. Many of the schools problems were discussed. Various clubs and classes took the opportunity to schedule their dance and other activities. All activities at the high school must be put on the calendar and authorized by the administration. THE MARCH OF DIMES drive is now underway at THS. This year the chairmen have been chosen from the junior class. They are Judy Jankovich and Alon Lewis. HERE FROM OREGON Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Black, and daughter, Diane, of Board-macalled at the Oregon, home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. I. Oveson, early this week.
