Show Carriages Widow Simpkins wa married to Peter Pe-ter Hines last Thursday at the Co. seat where they went to have the operashion performed. It was a very sad affair, beinsr as old Bill Simpkins has been dead only nine months, and nobody can say Bill wasn't a good husband while he lasted. There be them who say that Widow Simpkins ought to have waited at least until her husband's grave rot grassed over, but so far a ve are concerned we think she done right. She wa a very handsome woman at one time and ain t so awful homely yet. Besides Peter Pe-ter has been a old bachelor all hi life and has needed a wife worse than almost al-most anything else we can think of, unless un-less it is a new hat. Peter has been wearing the same hat going on nine years, and there ain't much left of it but the brim, but he 'lowed it wa good enough to get married mar-ried in. The happy couple have returned re-turned to Bingville, where they will go to housekeeping with Pete's mother. We perdickt that Peter's wife will have a turrible time to get along with Peter's Pe-ter's mother, but if Peter'a wife can stand it we can. |
