Show Co operative Herding. We direct di-rect attention to a short but pointed communication to the Laramie Sentinel on co-operative colonizing and herding, which will be found on our first page. We are inclined to the opinion that the writer is Dr. Latham, a gentleman whose views carry the weight of conviction con-viction with them on almost every subject sub-ject on which he treats. These Talleys were settled by co-operative colonizing coloni-zing on a very extensive scale, and its results sustain the position taken in the article referred to. It is the only safe means of settling an Iudian country, coun-try, for the aborigines are too wary to attack a well peopled settlement where they would be likely to be unsuccessful. The subject of co operative herding is receiving considerable attention here at present, and the vuws of this writer will show how they harmonizo with those held by the gentlemen who are urging its importance here. Further reference will be found made to the subject in the minutes of the meeting held by the Society for the Improvement Improve-ment of Stock, Sc-z., on Monday night, and an intimation of the steps that have been taken to commence it in this country. |
