Show Ron Fork Humbug. Mr. C. C. McCoy called at our office yesterday to corroborate the letter of Mr. Marshall, which we published last Thursday, in regard to the Ross' Fork mines. He assures us that they are a complete sell ; that there are no diggings dig-gings there ; that Fisher k Stone, who keep a little store at Boss' Fork, fitted out a man by the name of Fairchild, alias "Cariboo," Frank McCoy and Sam Babcock, to go out to the so-called so-called mines and report mines. The party found a bare color of very fine, float gold in a few of the gulches, but nothing of any consequence ; nothing that would approach pay dirt. Fisher started immediately for Corinne, and forthwith the Brportcr began to puff up the mines. Those who left Snake river are now on the way to their old diggings, making haste to put in an appearance before their old claims are occupied by others. The whole thing is a cruel humbug, gotten up by the Conintheans to sell goods and attract a little notice to their town. Boise Statesman. |
