Show Railway Mail Service Appointments WASHINGTON March The postmastei general today acting upon the recommendation recommen-dation of General Superintendent Bell of the railway mail serviceappointed the follow fol-low in named division superintendents of the railway mail service W I Bigelow first division Boston Mass vice George E D Ames resigned R C Jackson second division New Ydrk vice W F Doolittle resigned C W Vickers third division Washington D C vice Eugene Carrington resigned L M Terrill fourth division Atlanta Georgia vice J 1 Tur nor resigned George W Pepper ninth division Cleveland Ohio vice F B Dodge resigned With the single exception of Mr Pepper tho appointees named above were displaced during the last administration Bigelow in ISsS Jackson in 1833 Vickory in IbIS Ter roll in 1SSO Mr Pepper is clerk in chare of the new York Chicago railway post office General Superintendent Bell in speaking of these changes said that they xvero made solely in the interest of good service The men who are today re instatol have been for many years closely identified with the railway mail service and its efficiency is largely due to their ability and energy The resignations of outgoing superintendents were requested with the assurance that there was nothing known to the department prejudicial to their good names |
