Show k John W. Snell's Case. It is known that Eliza Shafer, the I alleged polygamous wife of John W. Snell, was before the Grand Jury yesterday, yester-day, but of course it is not iossible to ascertain whether or not she recanted on the matter which caused her imprisonment imprison-ment for contempt. ' It is learned, however, how-ever, from sources other than the Grand Jury (as might be imagined), that considerable consid-erable new evidence, of a disastrous nature na-ture to the defendant, has developed, and that an entirely different phase may be given the case when it comes up for trial. |
