Show Strikers in Chicago Still Hold Out. Chicago," January 4. The strike at Maxwell Max-well Bros.' box factory is spreading. This morning twenty-five men, who worked in the planing mill, refused to go to work. They say they have no speoial meetings of their own, but their action was based on the sympathy sym-pathy of the striking nailers. Thirty-five non-Union nailers went to work in the factory fac-tory this morning. They were unmolested by the strikers, contrary to the expectation. The firm did not pay off the strikers on Saturday, Sat-urday, but the men do not growl about it. |
