Obituaries Margaret G. Stallings Email condolences to the <lom@lindquistmortuary.com> EDEN Margaret Grow Stallings, 83, our angel mother, died at home on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2005, of causes incident to age. Margaret Stallings devoted her entire life to caring for — husband and family, especially her son Georg She was born rSeptedibe: 12, 1921 in Huntsville, a daughter of Charles Isaac and Adelia Abbott Grow, and was reared in Huntsville with her four older brothers. She graduated from Weber High and Weber Seminary. As a teenager she worked in the tomato factory in North Ogden. She also worked as a telephone operator in Huntsville and then in Dr. Dumke’s office after graduation. Margaret married Lowell Stallings in 1944 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They made their home in Eden where together they built a registered Holstein dairy farm of 70 cows. Even though she never felt like she was a farm girl at heart, she drove flat bed trucks for hay haulers and then cooked dinner for the crew. She was always feeding someone. Lowell died January 11, 2005. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Eden Ist Ward and served many years in the Primary and Relief Society. She enjoyed doing family genealogy and extraction work. Margaret loved music, especially playing hymns on the piano. She had a lot of energy and was the first to have her laundry out on the clothes line on wash day. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She crocheted many beautiful tablecloths and was also an avid reader. Surviving are her children: George Stallings, Eden; Jan (Richard) Wight, Ogden; Sharon (Brad) Vause, Eden; Sandra (Dave) Jenkins, Eden; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Dale Grow, Ogden; and Douglas (Beatrice) Grow, San Clemente, California. The family would like to thank Seini Moeaki and IHC Hospice for their loving care. Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 30 at the Huntsville Utah Stake Center, 6450 East 1900 North, Eden. Interment, Eden Mountain View Cemetery. He was reared and educated in Ogden graduating from Ogden High School and Utah State University with an accounting degree ew was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in various callings including High Councilman and Bishop. a veteran of World War II, he served his country with the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific. Lew had his own C.P.A. partnership for many years and worked as the chief financial officer for the W.C. Swanson Family Foundation. Lew enjoyed playing golf. He loved people Llewellyn D. Costley Jerry ( (Carol) Costley, Centerville; three grandsons and one granddaughter. Also surviving are three cousins he grew up with and were his “brothers” and “sister,” Clark Nielsen, Chad Nielsen, and Karma Henry. The family expresses special thanks to IHC Hospice and Comfort Keepers for the loving care rendered to Lew. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 29 at the South Ogden Stake Center, 4075 Orchard Avenue, with Bishop Ronald Watkins officiating. Marval was born in Boise, Idaho, September 20, 1912 to Charles Arthur Middleton and Ruby May Watkins. She attended schools in the Ogden area, graduating from Ogden High School in 1931. classeswith renowned artists furthered her eiocaion, On November 2, 1934, Marval married Daniel A. (Bruce) McFarland iin the Salt Lake Temple, and for 49 years they were devoted to each other. Bruce passed away March 27, 1984. She missed him dearly. Marval was a gifted artist, receiving the highest honor for an original ceramic sculpture F. Liden, publisher of the Popular Ceramics Magazine. She was invited to tour art museums in Europe with sixteen fellow artists. She loved her travels to Europe. Hawaii was also a favorite. Marval loved her Father in Heaven and Savior. She was active in the LDS Church, serving in many callings in the Mt. Ogden Ward. Marval devoted many loving hours serving as President and member of the Aglaia Club, the Ogden High School PTA, the Lakeview Chapter of China Painters, the Ogden Pallette Club, the Western Art Guild, and as a Co-captain and member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Her students at Weber State University remember her love of art rval will be remembered by her family and friends as a person who saw beauty in life and living. She expressed her love through her ceramics, her paintings, and her artistic talents. Marval is survived by three children: Mitzi Sanders of Ft. Worth, Texas, Judy Radford (Ed) of Salt Lake City, and Bruce Taylor McFarland (Sherrie) of Fresno, California; ten grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Norma Brenchley (Tom) of Roy, and Joy Anderson of Eagle, Idaho; and one brother, Terry Middleton (deceases).
