HUTCHlSoU S Details of the program for the 'inauguration of Dr. Franklin Stew-J Stew-J art Harris as president of Utah State Agricultural colege have been completed, Dr. Joel Ricks, tfeculty inaugural chairman, an-j an-j nounced today. Beginning with an academic I procession from the college library j to the main building at 9:45 a.m., i the program will continue through-I through-I out the day, culminating with the president's reception in the college Commons at 7 p.m. Highlighting the day's activities will be the inaugural exercises to be held in the college aduitorium at 10 a.m. Dr. C. B. Hutchison, dean of the school of agriculture, University of California will be guest speaker. President Harris will deliver an inaugural address, i A musical program has also been I prepared. I Dean Hutchison is reported to be one of the country's leading authorities on agriculture and landgrant colleges. He served as president of the National association associa-tion of land grant colleges and universities. . in 1944, . and his achievements in agriculture are recognized throughout the world. He has been awarded with the agricultural decoration first class by Belgium, and is a member of the order of the White Lion society so-ciety of Czechoslovakia. Academic costume will be worn at the exercises. A luncheon for delegates and guests will be held at 1 pin. in the Commons dining hall. Response from the 1000 invitations invita-tions which were sent out to prominent educators, churchmen, citizens, scientists and friends of President Harris are being receiv- I ed at the USAC campus daily, Chairman Ricks said. Among the first to respond were the following: President Le, Roy C. Cowley University of Utah; President Howard 9. McDonald, Mc-Donald, Brigham Young university; univers-ity; President O. D. Humphrey, University of Wyoming; Mrs. Earl Martel, Montana State, and Henry Laub, University of Suutn-ern Suutn-ern California. Other representatives of out-of-state colleges and universities who have responded to date are: William Olwell, JScripps college; Dr. Goorge. Yale university; Dean' W. L. Wanlass. John Hopkins university; Bishop Arthur W. Moulton, Hobart and William Smith colleges; Dr. George M. Gadsby. Marietta college; Perry W. Jenkins, Miami university, and John Frances Dugan, Montana School of Mines. Utah junior college presidents, superintendents of schools, university uni-versity deans, church leaders and prominent citizens have responded in large numbers, according to Dr. Ricks.
