Show KNIGHTS OF ST. JOHN. According to the time honored custom, cus-tom, Easter Monday was given to dancing and fun. After the forty days of abstinence from the greater number num-ber of the lighter pleasures, Leadville, both young and old. began the spring festivities by attending the dance given by the Knights of St John at the City hall last evening. One of the principal features of the evening was an exhibition drill by a i drill squad composed of thirty-two members of the order and their officers. Although the order has only been organized or-ganized here a comparatively short time, and Captain J. J. Quinn has only had a few weeks to drill the team, an excellent showing was made. The greater part of the company movements move-ments of the United States army were executed, together with a number of fancy evolutions, much more difficult and all with an exactness worthy of veteran soldiers. The large hall was filled to its fullest capacity throughout the evening, making mak-ing dancing well nigh impossible. At midnight a supper was served by Miller, and later dancing was resumed and |
