Show NO MARRIAGES AFTER DARK. Marriages in the church after dark haAe been put under the ban by the Catholic bishop and clergy cler-gy of Sioux City. All Catholics. ' it is declared, should be married in the morning and with at least a Ioav mass. The folloAving regulations have been read in the local Catholic churches: - "That no child coming to the parochial school of another parish than his or her oavh would be received Avithout a note from his or her pastor jhat' all Avas right. "That hereafter no sermons would be preached at funerals in our churches. "That hereafter no floAvcrs should be brought into the church with the corpse. FloAvcrs must be left outside. "No hymns in the vernacular, and only those of the liturgy should be sung during a requiem mass. "The offering for a higi mass of requiem is fixed at $10. The offering for a solemn high mass (three priests) is fixed at $25. "No marriages in the church after dark. All Catholics should be married in the morning and Avith at least a low mass." |
