Show MOTHER OF THURLAND SLY DIES IN CEDAR CITY Mrs. Hilma J. Rosenburg Sly, 74, of Beaver, mother of Thur-land Thur-land D. Sly of Milford, died in a Cedar City hospital Friday, Oct. 25, of natural causes. She was born Sept. 16, 1889, in Cedar City, to Joseph A. and Charlotte Tower Rosenburg. Rosen-burg. She married Dale Sly March 1, 1911, in Cedar City. The marriage was later sol- emnized in the St. George Temple. Mr. Sly died Nov. 26. 1960, of injuries suffered in an auto accident while on his way to Cedar City to visit his wife, who was hospitalized at that time. Mrs. Sly was an active member mem-ber of the LDS Church, and had been Captain of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Surviving are the following sons and daughters: Thurland D. Sly, Milford; Joseph A., He-met, He-met, Calif.; Mrs. Noble (Le-nore) (Le-nore) Waite, Huntington Beach, Calif.; 19 grandchildren and 13 great - grandchildren; brother and sister: Thomas G. Rosenburg Rosen-burg and Mrs. Al (LaVern) Dobrusky, Parowan. Funeral services were held Tuesday in the Beaver First Ward Chapel under direction of Bishop LaVel Bradshaw. Many relatives, friends and neighbors sympathize with this family as they have lost three brothers and their father thru fatal accidents within the last three years: Earl Sly (former Milford resident) ; Chester N. Sly, Etsil J. Sly, and Dale Sly. |
