She was bom November 15, 1916, to Samuel W. a n d Eleanor Cottrell Wright. She married. mar-ried. Vern J o h "y o h n Ambrose December 7, 1936. He died June 15, 1990. She enjoyed quilting and was gifted in other handicrafts. handi-crafts. She was an active member of the LDS Church, holding many positions. She is survived by two children: John (LaNell) Ambrose, St. George; LaVern (Lonnie) Emery, American Fork; 16 grand children; 44 great-grand, children, 13 great-great grandchildren; 2 brothers and a . sister: Robert (Florence) Wright,, Lemmon, S.D.; Frank (Wilma)Wright, V Wee; Jordan; and Florence J. -Walker, Midvale She was preceded in death by her . husband, a son Glen, 2 step-. daughters, Beth Flanders and Ruth Vencill, a granddaughter, grand-daughter, Penny Snedecor, 4 sisters and a brother. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 20 at noon at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100. North, American Fork; where friends may call for 1 hour prior to the services Wednesday. Burial, American Fork Cemetery. JoAnn Gaisford JoAnn Swenson Gaisford, 66, returned to her Father in Heaven on Father's Day, June 17, 2001. She passed away at her home in Lehi following follow-ing a long illness. JoAnn was b o r n November 22: 1934 in Lindon, Utah to Wendell Dewitt and Lillian Wright Swenson. JoAnn married Merlin J. Gaisford, October 11, 1952. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple." JoAnn vas very active in the LDS Church. She had many callings call-ings and especially loved serving as a temple worker in both the Provo and Mount Timpanogos Temples. She worked at Pykes and for the Alpine School District in the school lunch program. She enjoyed traveling and spent , winters in Yuma, Arizona. She loved her family fami-ly and was a wonderful wife, mother.isfcej; ,and grand- , mother. . She is survived by her husband, Merlin Gaisford, Lehi; her sons, Jay Merlin. L '.- Our - beautiful Season Covington Schramm, age 24, of Lehi, Utah, died June 14, 2001, iff American Fork, Utah. She was born Sept. 18, 1976, in American Fork, Utah, to Dick B. Covington and Susanne Prestwich Covington. She married Phillip Jay Schramm on March 14, 1997, in Highland, Utah. ; Our beloved wife and daughter, loving mother of Alyssa Hattie, 3, was called back to Heavenly Father. She was a hairstylist and comedian and had worked for Lehi Barber Stylist and most recently you could catch her act at Great Clips in Pleasant Grove. She is survived by her husband and daughter of Lehi; her parents, Susanne and Davjs Mower of Orangeyille, Utah; Dick and Cindy Covington .of American Fork;, a sister, Brienn . Covington of American Fork; 2 sisters, Gabrielle and Martha Mower; 8 brothers, Adam, Daniel, Nathaniel, Samuel Mower; Jeremiah, Gail, Waylin Gunter, and Randy Gardiner; parents-in-law, Paul and ' Kathryn Schramm; grandparents, Clifford W. and Susan Prestwich of St. George; Blanche and the late Kenneth Covington of Lehi; Allen and Marylyn Mower of Orangeviils, Utah; Rex and Lois Bigelow of Lindon; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; 1 niece, Bailey; 2 nephews, Dustin and Jaxen who will all truly miss her. She is also survived sur-vived by four brothers-in-law, and six sisters-in-law, as well as 11 nieces and nephews She now joins a cousin, . Heaven Covington, and her grandfather, Kenneth in Heaven. Richard Jacobs Richard John Jacobs, age 82, passed away June 15, 2001, at his home in Lehi, Utah. He was born Oct.. , 14, 1918, in Lehi, Utah, to . John Eari and Mary Ellen Butt Jacobs. He married Joyce Lettde 0Niel on Oct. 7, 1946, in American . Fork, Utah. She died April 21, 1979, in Buena Park, California. He was a meter repair foreman ' for Southern California Gas and had lived in South Gate, California and Lehi, Utah. He was a I If r . .... ; l - ft . i LA' & veteran of the Army in WWII. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, his family, and especially his grandchildren. Mildred Allred Mercer f m ' "."'W!.'.;" Kim ; I' A ' Mildred Allred Mercer, born March 15, 1910, passed away Friday, June 15, 2001 of natural causes in American Fork. She wa3 the oldest daughter born . to Coleman and Jane Forsyth Allred. She was educated in the Provo schools, attending the old Maeser Elementary and BYU. She attended St. Marks School of. Nursing, specializing in maternity care. She married Patrick Casey in 1928 and moved to Tooele, where she set up housekeeping and started her family. They moved back to Provo where she worked as a nurse for Drs. Weston Oaks and Merrill. She was later divorced and continued working to support sup-port her two young daughters, daugh-ters, Patricia and Geraldine. In 1934 she married John Raymond Mercer in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He had two sons, Wayne and Burnell. Later, they had a son of their own, David. After 58 years in Tooele, she moved to American Fork in 1986 to be closer to her daughter Geri Strong. Mildred was always active in her church and community. She was an avid genealogist and researcher. She authored a book called "History of Tooele County". She was a long time member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and the Utah Historical Society. She had a love for reading good literature. She crocheted lovely afghans and enjoyed giving ; them away. She traveled extensively exten-sively and loved it. She served an LDS mission to Raleigh, North Carolina in 1979-80. She is survived by four living children: Geri (Dallas) Strong, American Fork; Wayne (Bonnie) Mercer, Gait, CA; David (Thelma) Mercer, Lincoln NE; Burnell (Connie) Mercer, Chambersburg, PA; 19 grandchildren, 33 greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Pat; and 7 siblings. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 22 at 11 a.m. at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork, where friends may call one hour prior to the services.
