Show BOWLING On Wednesday night "Husband and Wife" League at the Southeast South-east Bowling Courts, Helen and Bill Rankin captured the week's prize with a combined high score of 349 fr one game. There was plenty of excitement among the Monday league bowlers bow-lers when the Gilbert-Ward team and had to Dlav off a tie for the Arnold combination at scratch first point. The Pitt-Phillips team won the first game from he Ward-Fellows team by one pin. and Algie Mae Phillips won the prize for the week by bowling 40 pins over her average in the second sec-ond game. Roy Garton broke the record for high series with 62S pins. , Since Afton Ward and Belle Fellows will be in Los Angeles at the N. I. B. C. next week, their team bowled the Guggisberg-Grayston Guggisberg-Grayston team for next week's schedule, and many records were broken. Ward Fellows now has high series of 2195 and single game of 768, and Guggisberg-Grayston Guggisberg-Grayston is second with 2128. Walt Fellows series of 625 is second sec-ond to Roy Garton's 628. Speaking of the W. I. B. C. Madge Garton reports a wonderful wonder-ful time in Los Angeles, and says that the Vogue alleys are where the tournament is being held are In excellent condition. Our Madge turned in a very creditable score and we're looking for a good showing from Afton and Belle next week. So far the Salt Lake entries haven't done so well as we had hoped they might, but these girls can bowl with the best of them. |
