Show C. OF C ELECTS NEW OFFICERS, Naming C. Hiram Young president and H. Scott Linnell, vice president, members of the board of directors of the Sugar House Chamber of Commerce met Thursday night for the purpose of electing officers for the ensuing year. R. Louise Hoggan succed-ed succed-ed herself as secretary and treasurer. Wendell Ashton is retiring president pres-ident and he was given a vote of appreciation by thenew officers for the splendid work he has done during the past year. He was especially es-pecially commended for the progress pro-gress made in the membership of the group, which has increased from forty-five to seventy. CHRISTMAS WORK GETS UNDER WAY With each of the seven new directors of the Chamber of Commerce Com-merce of Sugar House taking ten or more names of firms in Sugar House to visit and ask for their contribution to the Christmas lighting, the work of decorating Sugar House got under way this week. The fund campaign will start next week, according to the retiring president, in charge of financing the project. The Chamber has a quantity of decorating materials now in its store room, including lights, ornamental or-namental designs and fixtures and these along with new materials, mater-ials, will be employed to make the district one of the outstanding outstand-ing decorative spots in the valley during the Yuletide. |
