Twenly-one head of Woming grass t steers, averaging 1715 lbs., brought $9.50 per cwt., on the Omaha mark-jet, mark-jet, August 20th, 1912: One steer weighing 2290 lbs., at $10.00 per cwt. I In both instances prices nighest ever 'paid for range steers on any market .and probab'y never be exceeded, Chicago's record being $9.05. Steei s were horned and branded mixed Herdfo dand Shorthorns, bred and ranged in Carbon County, Wyoming, by the owner, W. A. Weaver, of Al-cova. Al-cova. They were driven 50 miles to inadirg point and carried in cars a dittane of nearly a thousand miles and still goud enough to average at Omaha, $160.00 to the animal and establish a world record. |
