Legislators Visit l Logan Colli Col-li leges. - J The members of the Utah house of representatives and ! half a dozen members of the' house reached Logan yesterday W at noon for the purpose of in- j specting the Agricultural col-j.' col-j.' lege. They came in on a special ! train and were met at the depot i by many citizens with sliigbs ( and taken at once to the noble , institution of learning on the eastern Mil, where a tour of the j institution was made. Upon arrival at the college, a tour of inspection was made of j the buildings. President Kerr j i anH aides had placed committees. throughout the college and all was done that was possible to make the visitors feel at home and to give them a knowledge of ( the workings of the institution. At 2 p.m. the part", sat down to a splendid and dainty banquet , 1 prepared and served by the do ; ' mestic arts department. During the meal a number of addresses were made and beautiful music , was furnished by Prof. Otte's t. orchestra and the college man-. v doiin and guitar club. . i President McCoruick of the! college board pi'esided at the; festival and made a brief though witty introductory address: Be welcomed the guests, said thei college did not duplicate the . work of any other institution, referred to the spread as an instance in-stance of what trie college was doing, and said the college deserved de-served a heavy appropriation. President W. J. Kerr. then ad-dressed ad-dressed the assembly. He told of what the college has done and is doing in the way of turning' out successful managers of dair-! ies, poultry, wheat and lucerne! producers, civil engineers, canal builders, etc., and drove many hard facts home to .he legislators. legislat-ors. All lauded the work of the college col-lege and agreed that it was a j great institution and deserved I hearty support.
