Show BIFIRE Atlas Block in Salt Lake Destroyed? Salt Lake was visited by afire early Wednesday morning which will be known as one' of the biggest big-gest in its history. As a result i of it the Atlas block, a modern I four-story structure on Second ; South, belonging to the S S j Walker estate, is a mass of black-, ened and smouldering ruins. ' It I was valued at $125,000. The loss, is total, absolutely no part of it being saved. Insu ranee was carried car-ried to the amount of $75,000. , --The --The Central bloct on the west, occupied by the Salt Lake Hardware Hard-ware company, so far as the first floor and basement are concerned,- was damaged heavily. It was owned' by the J R Walker I estate and 11 11 Walker. This block is so badly gutted that -it will be condemned. The hard-1 ware company aie the 'greatest loosers. They estimated the val- I ue of their stock at $350,000 and said that as far as they were able to figure out that their losses j t would reach quite $200,000.
