Show 4- : ANACONDA. I - (Correspondence Intermountain Catholic.) The funeral of Corporal John J. Campbell, company M, Montana Volunteers, Vol-unteers, was held Tuesday afternoon from St. Paul's Catholic church. It was on the military order and was carried car-ried out without a hitch in any of the arrangements. Captain John Halla-han, Halla-han, company M, was in command. Corporal Jacob Schiffman of the same company had charge of the firing squad, composed of Corporal Jacob Schiffman. Privates Casey, Hamill, O'Neill of M company and Privates Underwood, Bell, Garvey and Rafferty. Pallbearers Lieutenant Gerald Sullivan, Sulli-van, Sergeant J. O'Neill, Corporal Over-heim. Over-heim. Sergeant McDonald, Sergeant Riley Ri-ley and Private John Robinson. A large number of the volunteers of company K and company M were in line. The members of the G. A. R also turned out under command of John Marchion. As the cortege moved through the streets, minute guns were fired and the bells on St. Paul's church and the city hall tolled. The services at the church were performed by Father Fa-ther Coopman. pastor of St. Peter's church. The deceased was laid at rest in the "Volunteer plot," in the cemetery ceme-tery on the hill. The decreased was a native of the city of Dublin, Ireland, and previous to his enlistment was employed in Anaconda, Ana-conda, where he was held in high esteem es-teem by all who knew him. Rev. Father Pauwelyn was a visitor to Deer Lodge on Monday. Rev. Father Quesnel of Frenchtows paid a Aisit to Anaconda during the week. Pleasing Entertainment. Ladies' nights have become an important im-portant feature of the Young Men's Catholic club and the entertainment given by the club at their rooms in the old library building last week was the largest and best since the club has been in existence. The parlors and reception rooms were crowded with the members of the club and their invited guests. Beginning at 9 p. m. the following excellent programme pro-gramme was given: Music Iron Moulders' Mandolin club Address of welcome J. E. Vocal solo Bert Smith The music by the Iron Moulders' Mandolin club is deserving of special mention and was one of the special features of the entertainment. The club personnel is Charles Cook, leader, and Walter Marugg, James Abbottand Frank Kathary. After the programme cards were played by some, while others adjourned adjourn-ed to the gymnasium room below and enjoyed a good old-fashioned dance, the Virginia Reel and old school house quadrille playing an important part. While each individual member of the club made it his business to see that all had a pleasant time, the members of the committees are deserving of special mention.
