Show BUTTE NOTES. (Correspondence Intermountain Catholic.) On Feb. 27, Rev. Father English united in marriage W. T. Tierney and Agnes Redding at St. Patrick's 'church. Mrs. J. M. Egan, 521 E. Galena street, left on Tuesday for a visit to her parents. par-ents. Mr. and Mrs. Dolan, who reside in Kingston, Canada. Mr. and Mrs. William Shore have returned re-turned to. the city after an extended visit to New York and Eastern cities. Mr. Shore is the chief buyer for the M. J. Connell company of Butte. s Mr. and Mrs. J. Ducie arrived home on Tuesday from a pleasant trip to Mexico and other points. Rev. Fathers Batens and Blaere visited vis-ited Father Paulewyen in Anaconda last week. Lenten devotions at St. Patrick's will consist of the rosary, instruction and benediction on Wednesday evenings and the Sta.tionsof the Cross and benediction ben-ediction on Fridays, commencing at 7:43. Rev. Father Callahan, in a recent sermon, explained very exhaustively and lucidly the teachings of the church in regard to fasting and abstinence and the duties arid obligations of Catholics in that respect. He also remindeel the members of the congregations of the duty imposed on them to attend the special devotions which will be held in the church during this holy season. Miss Lizzie McParland and Miss Kate McNulty were guests of Anaconda friends during the past week. |
