(Correspondence Intermountain Catholic.) The patriotic sons and daughters of Erin residing in this enterprising and progressive mining camp are looking forward with considerable interest and Pleasing anticipation to the approaching approach-ing celebration of Ireland patron saint. That the celebration this year wili prove a grand success goes without uaying, especially as it will be under the immediate control of that popular organization, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Hi-bernians, whose patriotism and services ser-vices in the cause of Irish nationality are po widely known as to need no comment. In addition to the religious services at St. Patrick's Church there will be a grand parade, in which two divisions of the A. O. H., the Meagher Guards and the Montana volunteers from Butte and Anaconda will take part. It is also intended in-tended to have short literary exercises at St. Patrick's Parochial School, when one of the advanced pupils will deliver an address appropriate to the occasion. In honoring the memory of St. Patrick, Pat-rick, it id only meet and proper that the ladies should be permitted to take a part. Consequently the two divisions of the daughters of Erin have in preparation prep-aration an excellent programme of literary lit-erary exercises, which will be held in the afternoon at Hibernia hall, Cen-terville, Cen-terville, and from the well known literary lit-erary taste of these ladies, and from the enthusiastic manner with which they enter into everything pertaining to the cause of Irish nationality, it is safe to say that this entertainment will prove one of the most delightful features fea-tures of the day's celebration. The following fol-lowing ladies will have charge' of the affair: Division No. 1 Mre. John Leary, Mrs. Mulcare, Miss Annie Sullivan, Mrs. Rowan. Mrs. Reynolds, Mrs. Green, Mrs. Phil Harrington. Division No. 2 Mrs. Leahy, Mrs. Page, Mrs. McDonald, Mrs. Gilleck, j Mrs. Roan and Miss Moliie Page. j Emmet's Memory Honored. The Robert Emmet Literary association associa-tion honored the memory of Ireland's young martyr by a rousing meeting, which was held at Hibernia hall, Cen-terville, Cen-terville, on Sunday, 4th inst. . The meeting was attended by several prominent Nationalists. There was a prc-at deal of enthusiasm, several patriotic pa-triotic speeches were delivered and inspiring ballads sung. Altogether this year's anniversary was a red letter night among the members mem-bers of this well known organization. Boer Ambulance Fund. The different committees that have been engaged for some time in soliciting solicit-ing subscriptions for the Boer ambulance ambu-lance fund are much pleased with the liberal and generous contributions secured se-cured so far. It is exceedingly gratifying gratify-ing to be able to report that their efforts ef-forts have been rewarded with such grand success. J. J. O'Meara, the treasurer treas-urer of the local committee, has already al-ready sent a draft for 51,000 to the national na-tional treasurer, P. T. Moran, at "Washington. "Wash-ington. At a meeting of the general committee on Sunday afternoon, several large subscriptions were reported, so that the treasurer expects to be a e to forward another large draft before long. |
